This week is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, and it feels important to share a little of my own story 🤍
During both pregnancy and after birth, I struggled with anxiety and intrusive thoughts. From the outside I probably looked like I was coping, but internally I was overwhelmed, fearful and constantly questioning myself. At times, I felt isolated in feelings I didn’t know how to explain.
One of the reasons I became a hypnobirthing teacher is because I don’t want parents to feel like they have to carry those emotions alone.
Pregnancy and postpartum can bring so much joy, but they can also bring worry, fear, anxiety and thoughts that feel frightening or confusing. Those feelings do not make you a bad parent, and you do not have to suffer in silence.
As a hypnobirthing teacher, my role is not just to help you prepare for birth - it’s to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, reassured and empowered throughout your journey.
If you’re currently struggling with prenatal or postnatal anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or simply feeling unlike yourself, please know there is support available and you are far from alone 🤍
This week, let’s keep talking openly about maternal mental health and remind each other that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
