We have been making the most of the short bursts of sunshine here at Manorhey.

We took a trip with our Myley Bus to "The Hidden Gem" coffee shop located in Heaton Park. The sun was shining while we took a lovely stroll around the garden centre, there were lots of fragrant flowers for us to smell, a lovely vibrant way to enjoy the sunshine. We all enjoyed a lovely cuppa & a slice of delicious Victoria sponge (the cake went down a treat).

We finished our trip by taking a lovely walk to admire the huge cherry blossoms up close, a great day was had by all, socialising in the sunshine.

At Manorhey, we embraced the spirit of collaboration to create a Springtime Garden Tea Party that involved everyone from our kitchen to our common room.

Our centerpiece was a stunning Easter-themed cake, masterfully crafted by our hospitality staff Tina and Amy. They went above and beyond with the details, featuring a handcrafted Easter Bunny, an egg-filled basket, and a vibrant spring garden scene. Their talent and artistry provided the "wow factor" that truly defined our celebration.

While Tina and Amy handled the intricate cake design, our residents were the heart of the food preparation for the rest of the spread:
• Easter Bunny Fruit Platter: A fresh and creative garden-themed centerpiece.
• Hand-Pressed Egg Nests: Residents enjoyed the tactile fun of shaping these chocolate treats.
• Bunny-Shaped Sandwiches: Our residents took charge of the "Mad Hatter" style tea sandwiches, ensuring every plate looked festive.

This competition brought our home together. From the prestigious "Official Taste Testers" to the residents who helped plate the feast, every element was a team effort. We are proud to showcase the incredible skill of our chefs and the joyful participation of our residents!

We recently had a visit from “The Little People Nursery”, our residents got to spend time getting to know some wonderful children.

With plenty of team work, we all made some very creative Easter hats to kick start April.

Our residents had a lovely time creating community links and bridging generational gaps.

The children were also kind enough to gift our residents with chocolate eggs - of course we didn’t leave them out and returned the kind gesture.

St Patrick’s Day certainly wasn’t a quiet one here at Manorhey.
Starting off the day creating our own funny faced leprechauns, we then enjoyed a traditional Irish themed lunch which went down a real treat with the residents.

Leading to an afternoon full of laughter & dancing, topping it off with an ice cold Guinness!

Fun was certainly had by all!

We celebrated Mother's Day at Manorhey with lots of laughter, love & reminiscing.

We spent the weekend with loved ones, decorated & danced together, while finishing off with a lovely afternoon tea trolly that had a selection of Mother's Day cupcakes, biscuits & don't forget the scones (with clotted cream & jam of course).

For World Book Day we had our very own Where’s Wally hunt.
Scattered & hidden around the floor were a variety of different item’s & characters from wally’s world.

With a checklist in hand, plenty of eyes on the look out & lots of steps, they all worked together to complete the list. We had lots of fun seeing who could be the first to spot one.

To end we had a well deserved cuppa & a bit of a cool down colouring.

Manorhey recently hosted a vibrant "Move with More..." social as part of February Falls Awareness, bringing together residents, staff, and our Regional Director, Katrina.

The highlight was an energetic bowling tournament between the floors, which successfully promoted More...Movement and confidence through friendly competition. To support the day's focus on healthy living, we provided a selection of nutritious snacks and drinks. This event was incredibly beneficial, as it not only encouraged safe physical activity to reduce the risk of falls but also fostered More...Connection and a wonderful sense of community wellbeing!
