Group privates and 1:1.

For me it’s how I learned yoga. There’s a place for group classes but for someone who came to this practice not from a place of being aware from my body but being totally disconnected.

Over time, with patience what started as a struggle to practice alone became my discipline and my way to be with myself and explore my own breath and body and not someone else’s. Not to forget what I was taught was completely individualised.

That’s what I enjoy about the practice and teaching. Exploring what works for each student. Not just skeletal and muscular system but what is going on with the breath and nervous system.

Happy Friday night! Anyone looking for private lessons feel free to reach out. I also offer online options!

I’ve struggled to find a name that fully explains my Wednesday morning class.

It’s a space where I share the supporting practices I’ve picked up along the way, things I use before and after practice and throughout the day.

Some of this comes from my teacher Ajay in Mysore where we bring awareness to different joints in the body. Other parts are influenced by a retreat with Sandra Sabatini and Michal Hakvkin, drawing inspiration from Scaravelli inspired and feldenkrais. Much of it is also my own exploration - slowing down the most basic movements from Ashtanga and Vinyasa Krama.

This is a class that will shift, change and evolve - as practice and life do.

It’s not about achieving anything. It’s about bringing awareness to the body. Sometimes that may mean moving more slowly, rather than moving through many postures at a faster pace.

I often think of Vanda Scaravelli and her interest in exploring sensation in the body rather than naming or defining practice too rigidly.

So although it’s currently called Gentle Yoga it may change - or you can simply experience it as it is.

I teach this class on Wednesday 9.30am. Feel free to DM to book a spot or bookings can be made on the website (link in bio)

Ashtanga Vinyasa

First practice I learned primary series during private lessons over a period of five years before eventually going to Mysore. This gave me sapce to explore the series, experience movement with my own breath, my own pace. It wasn't always easy, self discipline is hard , practising alone is hard, however the strength it gives to the mind is undeniable.

The system is not perfect. No system is. But for me it definitely does what it says on the tin. It's YOga Chikitsa working the digestive system. However physiologically in this day and age it can be a difficult system to learn. It's not balanced system physiologically for me there's not enough to open shoulders. To open the front body. Why also in Mysore we have an extra backbending. Also, if the system was created for digestion it's pretty spot on. To work more physiologically in opening in strengthening other parts of the body I use Vinyasa Krama sequences - depending on what my body needs on any given day. When I want to work more internally I use primary series.

I teach a short Ashtanga Led class Fridays at 9.30am.

Not for complete beginners to yoga.

Schedule for this week.

Self practice although part of a programme is also available as drop in. For students who want to learn the traditional method of practice. The teacher guides the student pose by pose but with the student's breath rather than the teacher's pace. Each pose is given to the student when the body is ready to avoid injury and losing the connection with the breath.

For more details on classes or self practice feel free to message.

SELF PRACTICE

My own experience with practice started through private lessons.

I would go to my teacher’s house once a week, learn parts of the sequence, and it was then my responsibility to practice at home. (this was before videos on our mobiles so I literally had to learn everything through memory). I didn’t have access to a Mysore space, so this was the closest thing.

Over time, this way of practicing taught me something important — how to practice for myself.

Self practice isn’t about being advanced, and it’s not about doing more.

It’s about learning how to move with your own breath, to understand what you’re doing, and to build something steady that you can return to.

For many, this can feel unfamiliar at first, especially if you’ve only experienced led classes.

But it is one of the most supportive ways to build a strong foundation and develop a deeper understanding of the practice over time.

I’m starting a 4-week self practice programme from Monday 20th April.

A small, supportive space to help you build your own practice, with guidance, structure, and time to learn.

You can book via the website, or message me if you’d like more information.
