Meet the team 👀

Everyone, please say hello to Mark 👋🏼

Mark is an IP Optometrist and the owner of McCracken Opticians in Uttoxeter. He qualified from City University in 1993 and was among some of the first optometrists to achieve the IP diploma in 2011 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

He currently serves as Vice Chair of Staffordshire LOC, where he also supports the Clinical Services subgroup. Mark joined the LOC with a clear goal: to help develop commissioned community eyecare services that make the most of his IP expertise and improve patient care.

Outside of optics, Mark has a creative side - he’s an indie rock singer-songwriter. His claim to fame ✨His band supported Edwyn Collins in Belfast back in 1994 👏🏻

We are all so proud of Mark for completing his Prof Cert Glaucoma!
He has worked so hard for this extra qualification. As well as hugely expanding his knowledge, it will potentially allow the practice to get involved in even more glaucoma monitoring. Well done Mark! 👨‍🎓

We are very excited at McCracken Opticians to showcase our latest bit of diagnostic technology, the Optos Optomap!
Mark is going to tell you all about it. As he is a bit of a chatterbox we are going to tell you about it in two exciting posts today!

The key to having and maintaining healthy eyes is in the early detection of potential problems. We are happy to announce that we are now offering optomap imaging, In less than half a second we can generate a high-resolution, digital color image of your retina.

We can almost hear sleigh bells in the distance now, but all our hardworking team will be with you for a few more days before taking a well earned Christmas Break!
Here are our opening times over the festive season.
