What’s the best day to receive a massage?

Honestly … any day!
And everyone has a good reason. A reason that makes perfect sense.

Here’s are the ideas I hear:

🗓️Monday! to set the tone for the week: “If I start calm, I stay calm.”

🗓️Tuesday! after what they say is the most productive day of the week: “I need this.”

🗓️Wednesday! right in the middle : “It’s my my midweek reset.”

🗓️Thursday! kids are in bed early after swimming lessons: “I’m lucky!”

🗓️Friday! a ritual to shift into weekend mode: “Let the weekend begin”

🗓️Saturday! in the morning: “While my husband washes the car… I also get a treat.”

🗓️Saturday! evening still counts as weekend self-care: “Refreshing after ticking off all the chores”

🗓️Sunday! early afternoon… “As sweet as a nap…”

🗓️Sunday! evening to end my weekend in style: “This way I start the week recharged”

💛 for massage and aromatherapy I offer evening appointments during the week and morning/afternoon/evening slots on weekends.
I make it easy to find the right day and time because life is busy and everyone is different.

🗒️ So… which day sounds like your kind of self-care? Which one would have your name in my calendar?

Lavender fields are amazing for taking pictures.
Like so many people … I love it! (and if you’re curious, I’ve added a few personal shots in the comments.)

But this time, I went there with a different plan: to give my friend a treatment right in the middle of the field.

People usually relax so deeply during a session that they fall asleep. Now, we wanted to see what would happen with the added magic of lavender.

Her bare feet, my warm hands, and the gentle scent of lavender in the air…
This wasn’t just a foot massage.
It was a moment of deep rest.
A pause.
A soft landing for her after a few stressful weeks.

This is reflexology, my way:
Soothing the feet, balancing the body, calming the mind, and using nature’s gifts to bring real rest.

And so, here’s a gentle invitation for you to try something different: how would you feel lying here, surrounded by stillness and scent?

They say: “Carry peace wherever you go!”
Well, the peace (and relaxation) I carry is folded into a massage table.
And yes! It’s bigger than me. 😄

As I finished my last treatment of the weekend I caught a glimpse of myself in a large mirror at the exit… and had to laugh!
It was the first time I actually saw myself carrying the table
and suddenly, all those comments like ‘How do you even lift that?’ made total sense.

The truth is, I’d never really thought about it… I just do it.
And it’s always worth it!
when people I massage “melt” into that table under my hands, when they relax and retune with their body 💆‍♀️ … it’s always worth it.

I carry my table with style 🤣🤷‍♀️ (not really), purpose 🔝(yes!), and a lot of love 💖 for what I do (100%).

And wherever I go with the massage table I know that peace will flow.

Massage in summer? 💆‍♀️☀️

Yes, of course! with a few thoughtful adjustments, perfect for the season’s lively pace.

Summer brings a new rhythm: longer days, more time outdoors, and a surge in activity—gardening, hikes, holidays… 🌺
Muscles can feel somewhat sore, joints a bit stiff, and energy slightly untethered.

That’s where massage comes in. Not to slow you down or keep you from summer fun, but to help you stay in flow. 🌾

On warm days, I adapt each session so you receive the care your body needs while fully enjoying the experience. I create an oasis of calm to restore you between your summer adventures.

• A door or window left slightly open, for a soft breeze
• Lightweight, breathable fabrics brought back from Bali
• Aromas in tune with the season—fresh and uplifting
• A touch that’s lighter yet grounding, ideal for warm weather
• A gentle mist to refresh your face and neck

Massage in summer isn’t about pausing life—
it’s about feeling good in your body, all season long.

These are the same hands you already know —
the hands that ease tension, soothe stress, and invite relaxation…

But this week, they’ve paused for something different — a cultural experience in India, wrapped in tradition and artistry, as I’m here to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend.

The henna ritual was a little wonder in itself for me— as relaxing as a massage and as inspiring as a story whispered from another time.

When it comes to choosing the essential oils I use for massage treatments and bespoke formulations … I’m very meticulous.

A few months ago, I discovered a Lavender essential oil from a growing farm in Romania -Lavandă de Margina.

Its scent is gentle and subtly sweet — not overpowering, just soothing. I’ve been using it in treatments designed to calm the nervous system, melt away tension, and help the body shift into rest.
It is particularly suited in sessions tailored for better sleep — where I blend it with gentle massage techniques to quiet the mind and ease my clients into deep relaxation.

Aromatherapy is never “just a nice smell.”
It’s an experience that supports your body’s natural rhythms and restores calm.

My journey to better sleep, my journey with Aromatherapy

About 10 years ago, I found myself navigating a really tough time in my life, both personally and professionally. This led to some serious sleep struggles; and being sleep-deprived made everything even more challenging. I had the wisdom of exploring natural alternatives before turning to medication and after a little search on the internet, I decided to try aromatherapy, specifically Lavender essential oil.

I still remember walking into a specialised shop, feeling enveloped by the soothing and calming scent of essential oils. I left with a small bottle and a room diffuser, and the results were nothing short of amazing—little did I know, this was just the beginning of my journey!

The good results ignited my curiosity and led me to delve deeper into the world of aromatherapy. While I did some initial research on my own, I soon realized I wanted more—safe and reliable knowledge for myself and my family. And so, in 2022, I enrolled in the Aromatherapy diploma program, which turned out to be a fantastic decision.

As an Aromatherapist today, I am focused on building my practice through trustworthy, science-backed information rather than a marketing hype. I’ve completed various advanced aromatherapy courses, and my learning never stops! The picture below is taken in a beautiful treatment room at the Mulberry Centre, ending a series of treatments I delivered part of my Oncology Aromatherapy course.

Now, I’m offering aromatherapy massage treatments and bespoke remedies tailored to the unique needs of those that seek my services. Each positive outcome brings me joy and pride, and every restful night is a small victory that contributes to overall well-being of the people that I support.

❄️ Why Does Eczema Flare in Winter?

Winter can really put our skin to the test:
• cold weather weakens the skin barrier.
• indoor heating dries the skin
• heavier fabrics rubbing against your skin don’t help either.
It’s no wonder our skin might feel like it’s asking for relief!

Let’s look at the cycle of eczema to understand it better and find ways to manage it.
Because it isn’t just dry skin— eczema it’s caused by a weakened skin barrier and an overactive immune response.
And here’s what happens:

It starts with dryness as cold air and indoor heating strip your skin of its natural oils that are meant to protect. 🔜
Dry, tight skin becomes more prone to cracks and irritation. 🔜
Irritated skin triggers intense itching, which leads to scratching. 🔜
Scratching damages the skin further, causing redness and flare-ups. 🔜
Damaged skin struggles to retain moisture, and is more vulnerable to bacteria entering - starting the cycle all over again. 🔄

🌟 How Can Aromatherapy Help?
As a qualified aromatherapist, I create bespoke products designed to soothe and hydrate your skin while promoting healing.

Here are a few ideas:

✨ Moisturizing Balms
Rich, nourishing hand balms and body butters made with ingredients like shea butter, calendula oil or carrot seed essential oil. These help keep your skin barrier healthy. Also essential oils like chamomile or yarrow are added for their calming and anti-inflammatory effects.

✨ Soothing & Hydrating Creams
Light, non-greasy creams infused with aloe vera or calendula and helichrysum essential oil to reduce redness and inflammation while keeping your skin hydrated.

✨ Bath Soaks for Relief
Mineral-rich soaks with oatmeal and omega-3-rich oils to soothe irritation and calm the skin.

✨ Clay Balms
For “weeping” eczema, a kaolin clay balm with juniper berry and myrrh can help by calming inflammation, absorbing excess moisture, and promoting healing.

✨ Hydrating Sprays
Hydrate your skin throughout the day with a gentle spray made from rose water to keep your skin feeling refreshed.

I take extra care to tailor these products to your unique needs, ensuring they’re safe and effective for eczema-prone skin.

Winter can be tough on sensitive skin. If you’d like to try a custom-made product to support your skin this winter, let me know—I’d love to help you feel comfortable and confident in your skin.

𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩

I was very happy when I came across a simplified version of journaling to wind down before bed la shared by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee in his podcast “Feel Better, Live More”: three quick, thoughtful questions.

I find journaling before bed incredibly grounding, so with these three prompts and a cup of tea I get to enjoy a quiet moment. It really makes a big difference to the way I end my busy day.

Let me share them with you—they might just help you find a calmer end to your day too.

1️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?
This question shifts your focus to gratitude. Our brains are naturally wired to notice the negative—a survival mechanism from our early days. By intentionally looking for positives, like a kind word from a friend, completing a task, or even savoring a good cup of tea, you start to reprogram your mindset. Over time, this simple practice improves your mood and helps you end the day with a sense of accomplishment.

2️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰?
A chance for self-reflection without judgment. Whether it’s going to bed earlier, handling stress differently, or prioritizing a short walk during the day, answering this question gives you the opportunity to make intentional changes. It’s not about perfection, but small, compassionate adjustments that build self-awareness and lead to growth.

3️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?
Reflecting on acts of kindness, no matter how small, boosts your mental well-being and sense of connection. It could be holding the door for someone, sending a thoughtful text, or helping a colleague. Science shows that helping others increases happiness and even health—it reinforces the idea that we are part of something larger than ourselves.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬
Journaling, especially before bed, is like decluttering your mind. Studies show it can lower stress, quiet racing thoughts, and help you fall asleep faster. The best part? It only takes a few minutes.

𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭?

𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 ... 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲
To deepen the sense of calm, I pair my journaling practice with aromatherapy. Scents like lavender, cedarwood, or vetiver help me create a peaceful space for reflection.
If you’d like suggestions on essential oils or how to weave aromatherapy into your evening routine, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!

💜 “𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧…”
🤷‍♀️ “It doesn’t work for me!”

💜 “𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩…”
🤷‍♀️ “Actually, it hypes me up!”

💜 “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭… 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭, 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭…”
🤷‍♀️ “My nose says it’s sharp and camphorous—quite medicinal!”

Some love it and swear by the relaxing properties of lavender others are not convinced at all. So let’s try to solve the mystery by looking at the 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮 because actually not all lavenders are the same!

💜 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 (Lavandula angustifolia)
This is the classic relaxation fairy. Gentle and calming, it’s perfect for winding down after a stressful day. Soft and floral, think of this one as a lavender that hugs you to sleep—your sweet comforter for a restful night. Also of great support with menstrual pain and PMS.

💜 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 (Lavandula latifolia)
A stimulating and action-packed lavender! Spike Lavender is used for relieving muscle tension, and it’s also fantastic for respiratory support. Thanks to its camphor content, it has a sharp, invigorating scent that clears the mind and energizes you.

💜 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧 (Lavandula x intermedia/hybria )
This one’s known as the “daytime lavender.” It’s calming but not as sedative as True Lavender, making it great for creating a soothing environment without making you feel sleepy. Lavandin has a more robust, slightly herbaceous scent, providing some of the relaxing benefits of lavender, but also offering an invigorating lift. It’s a hybrid between the first two.

🌿 Whilst for gardeners the choice is in the color shade and shape of the lavender flowers, in aromatherapy, lavender is chosen based on the therapeutic properties of the essential oil. Each type of lavender plant produces oils with distinct chemical composition and this why the effects on the body and mind are so different.
To an untrained nose, they might all just smell like … lavender. But checking the label when buying the essential oil and choosing the right one is key to achieving the desired effect. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or a burst of energy, it’s important to select the right one.

So, which lavender do you think you need? Let’s talk about it - I’m happy to guide you in a safe, responsible, and personalized way.
