World Asthma Day serves as a crucial platform to raise awareness about asthma and increase care for those living with this chronic condition. It breathes life into conversations around a condition often overlooked.

This day also encourages all communities to work collectively towards reducing asthma-related complications and promoting respiratory health. It calls for cleaner air, regular check-ups, proper inhaler use, and avoiding triggers like dust, smoke, and pollen.



Common misconceptions surrounding asthma include, but are not limited to:
❌Asthma is a childhood disease; individuals will grow out of it as they age.
❌Asthma is infectious.
❌Asthma Sufferers should not exercise.
❌Asthma is only controllable with steroids.

Some truths are:
✅Asthma can occur at any age.
✅Asthma is not infectious. However viral respiratory infections can cause asthma attacks.
✅Asthma in children is frequently associated with allergy, but asthma which starts in adulthood is often less associated.
✅Well controlled asthma allows people to exercise and play sports.
