Our Women's Network held an event with guest speakers, Sarah Burton (our chief nurse) and Parnita Senjit, who provided insight into female leadership development and fostering connections.

There's still time to share your views on proposals for a new Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Hertfordshire.

NHS England launched a public consultation last month on plans to relocate Mount Vernon Cancer Centre to a new, purpose built facility next to Watford General Hospital. The proposals also include opening a new chemotherapy unit at Hillingdon Hospital.

A wireless, cuffless device - Bluedop - is transforming how clinicians assess blood flow and determine the cause of leg ulcers, thanks to funding from Hillingdon Hospitals Charity.

The handheld device has reduced scanning time from 15 minutes to just over 7 minutes, enabling our teams to identify different types of leg ulcers, including venous leg ulcers, more efficiently.

Bluedop allows clinicians to view images on a tablet in real-time, facilitating quicker referrals to other specialties for necessary treatments. This also ensures that only patients requiring specialist input are referred to other providers, enhancing efficiency and reducing unnecessary appointments.

The Hillingdon Hospital is an acute and specialist services provider in North West London, close to Heathrow Airport for which we are the emergency receiving Hospital.

Providing the majority of services from the Trust, Hillingdon is the only acute hospital in Hillingdon with a busy Accident and Emergency, inpatients, day surgery and outpatients clinics.

Hillingdon Hospital has an innovative and exciting pilot ward, with 24 single rooms designed in three different layouts, to assess the best way to deliver better outcomes for patients, much-reduced infection rates and faster recovery times.
