I have written to the Health Secretary requesting support for the Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner Service at Mount Vernon Hospital.

This is in response to the petition by Hillingdon Conservatives, which generated over 11,500 signatures in two weeks. A clear and robust demonstration of local support, we must do everything we can to safeguard the future of the service.

Unfortunately we have been having major issues with our phone lines this week and they are ongoing. Babblevoice, the surgery phone system (the provider) are working on a fix. This is intermittent so if you are not able to get through to us initially, please do call back or speak to 111 or 999 if it is a medical emergency.
Thank you for your patience.

Due to a national problem with the NHS Spine we are having technical issues mainly around appointment booking and electronic prescriptions. We hope this is sorted out soon and apologise for any delays in prescriptions.

Dear patients of Wallasey Medical Centre. We have been made aware that not all calls to the surgery seem to be ringing at the surgery end. This is a software issue with the service provider, possiblely linked to the IT failures at the weekend. They are working to fix it and should be sorted out over the next few hours.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately we are still not back up and running at full capacity. We are so sorry for this. We hope you are all keeping well and enjoying some nice weather today and this weekend. Dr Patel and the Team at Wallasey Medical Centre.

16.00 Update:
Work is ongoing to restore service to EMIS Web following the third-party issue that is impacting organisations globally.
We are successfully bringing some services back online, however some functionality may be initially limited.
We expect this disruption to continue through the evening and into the weekend, and we recommend users prepare for this. We are exploring ways to safely accelerate this work to restore service to all affected services as soon as possible.
Wales:
EMIS Web is now available for practices in Wales. We will continue to closely monitor the system and take any action if required.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we have worked through this issue and would like to reassure you that our teams will continue to work throughout the evening and over the weekend to fully restore service.
Next Update: 10am, Saturday 20th July

WALLASEY MEDICAL CENTRE is still experiencing a disruption in its clinical computer system which we use to access patient records. This is affecting consultations and the issue of prescriptions. If you are expecting a call from the practice this is likely to be significantly delayed.
If you have a face-to-face appointment please still attend. In an emergency please use 111 online Get help for your symptoms - NHS 111. This is an issue affecting all England practices on the same clinical system. All efforts are being made to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.

Don't forget that local pharmacies can offer advice and consultations for certain conditions and minor ailments.

Once again apologies.

Last Saturday, Dr Patel and a small group of friends undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. They have been raising money for their chosen charities:

'we lucked out with the weather and had a nice cloudy, cool and slightly damp start to the day. The first peak was a breeze (kind of) despite being a bit gusty at the top. The walk between peak one and two, although long, was easy going. Peak two and then peak three were very challenging as the fatigue started to set in. Found my second wind coming down from peak three and the pace increased considerably. Completed the 24.7 mile challenge at 11 hours and 44 minutes! (Walking time was 9.5hrs).

A HUGH THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS, THEY REALLY DID HELP SPUR ME ON. THE TARGET WAS SMASHED AND STILL CLIMBING (£1700 SO FAR TO PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH).'
