Ravenstar Croft

Ravenstar Croft Working Croft, Bakery, and Natural Therapies. We live on the Isle of Lewis, close to lovely beaches. There is a little shop at the back of the house.

We have a croft with hens and ducks, a vegetable garden, and a little woodland, where the ducks live. We also grow our own soft fruit to make jams and we sell our lovely eggs. Dave is a blacksmith by trade originally and Jane offers Natural Therapies. Follow us for frequent updates of the "Goings- on" here!

Wishing everyone a very Happy and healthy Christmas. Dave will be back at the Tarbert craft market at Easter, selling his baked goods. Another bright point is that our hens are laying bigger eggs, so we will have some for sale again.

I saw 2 Hen Harriers this morning, gliding gracefully over the next Croft. I think they were either females, or young birds. Beautiful .

The wind yesterday took a tree down and split a few others on the Croft. The grandchildren's flower bed took quite a battering, along with the peas, beans and onions. Some of the rhubarb in the front garden was knocked over too. So rhubarb jam has been made with the sticks that got blown over. It tastes good.
