What a fantastic morning we had! ☺️

Our residents enjoyed spending time with the wonderful Felicity from Bright Sparks Creative Learning, as well as the lovely children and their families during the playgroup session filled with sensory and fun activities. 🧸🎨

We also had the pleasure of watching a brilliant performance of Little Red Riding Hood by the talented Forest Forge Theatre.

It was a lovely time for everyone involved. 💖

🚨 Team Verwood House Care Home Takes on the Mud Trail Challenge! 🏃‍♀️💪🌿

On 26th July, an enthusiastic group from Verwood House Care Home will be getting muddy for a brilliant cause — raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance 🚁💛

This vital service makes a lifesaving difference to people across our region, and we’re proud to do our bit to support them. Every step (and splash!) they take will help raise funds to keep their critical missions flying.

Smoothie Morning Fun! 🍓

Our lovely residents had a refreshing start to the day by making their own homemade smoothies this morning! Using bananas and a mix of summer fruits, they created some tasty (and healthy!) blends ✨

We had such a fantastic time today catching up with Craig Mr Pop's Balloons !
It was such a joy to see him creating pure magic with balloons and putting big smiles on everyone’s faces. 😊

From art sessions to animal encounters, seaside strolls to musical memories — it’s been a joyful week across our homes!

🏏 Montague House enjoyed Sponsor Day at Brampton Cricket Club.

🏍️ Lovell Place celebrated National Motorcycle Day with a biker visit and bacon butties.

🏖️ Verwood House soaked up the seaside on two sunny day trips.

🌿 Richmond Manor took a trip to Shuttleworth Collection & Swiss Gardens

🧘‍♀️ Cambridge Grove held a peaceful Namaste Care morning full of sensory relaxation.

🎾 Chawley Grove screened the Wimbledon finals in style!

🚗 Cofton Park Manor prepped for their big car show with sweet goody bags.

🎨 Alston House hosted a community art session inspired by the summer sunshine.

🐍 Dorking Manor welcomed a special visitor — Sissy the Corn Snake!

🎤 Newton House danced and sang along with CH Music.

We’ve had such a lovely couple of days at Verwood House, filled with creativity, connection, and laughter🎨🌿

As part of our arts therapy session with the Johanna, we painted pebbles - each one unique and full of colour, just like the lovely people who made them. It was a calming, joyful experience that brought out everyone’s inner artist.

We also gave our plants a little TLC by picking off dry leaves and sorting through them together — a small but meaningful task that brought a sense of purpose and care.

And of course, our Breakfast Club continues to be a favourite time of day — full of chat, giggles, and shared stories over a warm cuppa. ☕💬

These simple moments mean the world to us. They remind us how valuable connection, laughter, and creativity are 💛

🌿 Bringing Nature to Life at Alston House 🌸

Our green-fingered residents at Alston House Care Home have been busy creating a beautiful new ‘wild patch’ garden — part of a local greening campaign to support biodiversity and tackle climate change. 🐝🌼

With support from Elly Swanbrow from the Eastleigh Town Greening Campaign, residents planted foxgloves, teasels, and scattered cornflower seeds — all to help encourage bees, butterflies, and other wildlife into our garden.

This is just the start of a blooming journey, and we’re so proud of everyone for their enthusiasm and care for the environment. 💚

☀️ Lovely Day Trips to our local seaside destinations! 🏖️

We’ve been soaking up the sunshine with some fantastic outings recently! 🌿🌊

Our residents and staff enjoyed two wonderful trips—where we took in the peaceful and stunning coastal views, vibrant , full of sea breeze, smiles, and the sound of waves.

☀️ There was plenty of strolling, chatting, and laughter along the way. Some enjoyed ice creams by the promenade, while others simply relaxed and appreciated the fresh sea air.

Moments like these are what make summer special—spending quality time together, exploring our beautiful local areas, and creating lasting memories.

Thank you to our amazing staff for making these outings safe, enjoyable, and full of joy for everyone! 💛

🌟💪 What a brilliant morning of movement and laughter at the care home today! 🏡✨

A HUGE thank you to Sandra Cosy Corner Yoga for leading such a fun-filled session — and to our very own Jemma for organising it all so beautifully! 🙌

We marched our way to a whopping “500 Miles” (well, it felt like it 😅), lifted condensed milk tins like champions 🥫🤣, and finished off with a round of laughing yoga that had the whole room in stitches! 🤣🧘‍♀️

The energy, the smiles, the giggles — just what we needed to kickstart the week! 💃🕺

It’s been another week full of fun, sunshine, and unforgettable moments across our homes — here’s just a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

☀️ Alston House soaked up the sun with the sweet sounds of Little Joe — the perfect soundtrack to a summer afternoon.

🎸 Abbots Wood Manor rocked out in style for National Rock ‘n’ Roll Day with Elvis classics, dancing, and plenty of blue suede shoes!

👒 Brookwater House brought style and smiles to the home with a fabulous Fashion Day, featuring colourful scarves, big hats, stylish sunglasses, and lots of laughter on our very own catwalk!

🐐 Charrington Manor enjoyed a heartwarming trip to Bocketts Farm Park, spending quality time with furry friends and each other.

💦 Cofton Park Manor residents made the most of the warm weather with a relaxing afternoon dipping their feet into paddling pools, enjoying the sunshine, and reminiscing over cherished summer memories.

🐢 Elstow Manor welcomed some exotic visitors thanks to Exotic Animal Encounter — though Amy the tortoise had her own plans to wonder round the home!

🦓 Lovell Place explored the wonders of wildlife with an exciting trip to the Bristol Zoo Project.

🌿 Meryton Place had an incredible morning at Bath City Farm — stunning views, lovely animals, and warm hospitality made it a day to remember.

🦘 Newton House spent the day at Calderglen Park, connecting with nature and enjoying close encounters with king tamarins, wallabies, and more.

✈️ Richmond Manor had a fascinating visit to the Shuttleworth Collection, with resident expert Tony sharing his impressive knowledge of vintage vehicles.

🚗💦 Buckets of Fun & Big Hearts at Upton Manor! 🐾

Residents at Upton Manor Care Home rolled up their sleeves for a fun-filled fundraising car wash, all in support of local animal rescue charity Corbiere Cat Cabin 🐈

Armed with jet washes and big smiles, our residents soaked up the sunshine — and the laughter — while raising money for a cause close to their hearts. Risa, one of our residents, even admitted to ‘accidentally’ spraying a few friends along the way!

Thank you to everyone who donated — and to our residents for showing once again that care, community and kindness go hand in hand 💙

We were honoured to welcome Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas MP to Cofton Park Manor, where he spent time with residents — including Dave McGrath, a much-loved former councillor who dedicated over 20 years to serving Bromsgrove District Council.

Now enjoying a well-earned retirement with us, Dave remains an inspiration through his stories, achievements, and lifelong commitment to the local community.

Creative Moments in the Garden!

With the sunshine recently making a lovely appearance, our residents took their creativity outdoors for a pottery painting session in the garden!
Surrounded by fresh air, flowers and birdsong, it was the perfect setting to get artistic.

Using rainbow paints, everyone had fun decorating mugs , flower pots and vases with their own unique designs.

Staying Active, Staying Connected!

We had another great session with Fionn this week at Verwood House.
The class focused on gentle arm stretches, light dumbbell exercises, and-just as important lots of smiles and social interaction along the way.

These sessions are a wonderful way for our residents to keep moving, build strength, and enjoy uplifting energy of being active together.

As always, the atmosphere was full of encouragement, and a real sense of community. We are already looking forward to the next class!
