We're Going Orange for National Challenge Poverty Week! 🧡
Today, we've embraced all things orange to stand in solidarity and raise vital funds for Turn2us, a fantastic national charity that helps people find financial support and information. Our team and our residents have been sporting orange attire at work, and we've been selling raffle tickets for our Orange Hamper to raise funds! Additionally, this Sunday, the Merlewood Mermaids are set to participate in a local Swimathon event! 🧡

We spent the afternoon engaging in arts and crafts, preparing decorations for our Diwali celebration on Monday night. We crafted vibrant tea light holders and painted Diwali-themed suncatchers 🎨 🕯️

This Sunday, as a part of our 'Go Orange' week dedicated to Turn2us, four of our wonderful team members will participate in the Windsor Lions Swimathon. This event aims to generate essential funds for our selected charity. Our charity partner is Turn2Us, an organisation committed to assisting individuals dealing with financial difficulties. Each Sunday, we gather in the reception area for our weekly Quiz. We enjoy switching up the themes every week and have explored topics like general knowledge, current events, the 1950s, and even Elvis Presley, to name a few📝

The apple turnovers prepared by the baking club were a big hit, receiving enthusiastic approval from both residents and staff during the afternoon tea round🍎

This week, the baking club crafted apple turnovers. Everyone took part in the process, from slicing apples to simmering them with cinnamon and folding them into pastry bundles🍎

This week we headed down to Henley for a second boat trip down the Thames. A few of our residents missed out on our first trip so we got booked in again so everyone could make the most of the day out🛶

One of our respite residents shared a heartwarming review expressing his gratitude for our amazing staff who looked after him during his stay. We take great pleasure in welcoming our respite guests back for additional visits and making them feel safe, welcomed and valued during their stay🏠

Last week we went on our monthly trip to Christchurch in Virginia Water for their 'Good news cafe' lunch. Its lovely to get our for a delicious meal and catch up with friends at the church. Thank you for having us 🍽️
