Today, our gracious Merlewood home offers 53 ensuite bedrooms providing nursing or personal care to the highest standards. Merlewood, a handsome Victorian house, is situated on 23 acres of grounds in Virginia Water, overlooking the Surrey Hills. Our home offers outstanding levels of service and care in stylish and comfortable spaces that provide a warm welcome for all. We provide both residential and nursing care on a long-term or short stay basis, as well as offering end of life care.

Whenever we visit we too are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much for the staff. Mum has had her ups and downs and the staff have liaised with outside agencies to ensure that her excellent care has continued.”

One of the standout features of Merlewood Care Home is its imaginative and inventive activities programme. The home also boasts a minibus, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy trips to a wide variety of destinations, both nearby and further afield. We think this picture says it all ✨️

Last week, some of our residents took part in a flower arranging activity.

Their beautiful creations were then displayed throughout Merlewood Care Home.

Four days later, the flowers are still looking absolutely fabulous.

Last week we spent a wonderful day at RHS Wisley Gardens, enjoying a picnic lunch and exploring the grounds. The tulips were out in all their beautiful colours, and the exotic plants inside the glasshouse were absolutely breathtaking.

Merlewood Care Home took part in a sweepstake for the Grand National on Saturday.

Our residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the race and eagerly waited to see who would hold the winning ticket.

Last Friday evening we had the very great pleasure of hosting an evening with renowned Italian opera singer, Yuri Sabatini. And what a fabulous evening it was. Enjoyed by a select few of Yuri’s guests plus our residents. We very much hope Yuri will be back to visit us again soon. Yuri has kindly given permission for us to share some highlights from his amazing performance.

Today is World Health Day, celebrated annually around the world.

This year the focus is "Together for health. Stand with science,” celebrating the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet.

Our teams work together with our residents, community health specialists and family members to ensure everyone is as healthy as possible with access to the medication, routines, activities and support they need to stay healthy.

His incredible magic brought plenty of laughs, smiles, and a wonderful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. A truly memorable way to start the festivities! 🐣🎩
