At the heart of village life for over a century, this lovely old building with its oak beams and minstrel’s gallery underwent a £280,000 restoration project in 2005. It now combines character with modern facilities fit for the new century. It can accommodate up to 150 for an event and seat 80 comfortably for a sit down meal. The large main room with its timber floor is ideal for dancing, bowls, yo

ga and other social and sporting activities. It is served by a bar and a good sized kitchen, central heating and a woodburning stove for extra warmth on winter days. In addition there are two upstairs meeting rooms for smaller groups.

Huge thanks to Kip and Carmen for organising this year's Village Quiz last week together with the Stokes on raffle and Andy & Lauren on the bar. In total the event raised a wonderful £600 which will go towards St Bartholomews Church. And congratulations to the winning team The Newbies, all of whom are new to the village. So well done Adam & Jen, John & Helen, and Andrew & Carolyn.
