R J Bray & Son Funeral Directors

R J Bray & Son Funeral Directors Your local, independent family funeral directors for North Cornwall, R. J. Although we are locally owned, we are not limited in the service we provide.

Bray & Son, owned and run by the Bray family, provide a personal, dignified service, guiding you through all the necessary arrangements, to ensure all your wishes are carried out. We believe we offer the most complete service in our area, from helping you plan your own funeral and set up a fully guaranteed funeral plan, right through to offering a free Bereavement Support Group. We offer a full range of funerals, from simple cremations, (often referred to as Direct Cremations, which are low cost funerals, with no mourners attending) through to a complete funeral service, with many different options in between, all carried out at the highest standards. Through our membership of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) we can assist your family in the event of your loved one passing away, either anywhere in the UK, or even further afield. As members of both NAFD and SAIF, we can ensure you receive the standards you expect and deserve. We follow the profession's leading Code of Practice, and we are regularly inspected. As well as holding the diploma in funeral directing, David Bray is also a member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors.

For the last three months of 2025, we were pleased to join a few fellow independent family funeral directors, working in partnership with the Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland.

For every funeral plan a family took out with us, we gave a donation and we have just been told that the amount raised so far for the RBL and Poppyscotland is an incredible £50,000. Together, since the partnership started in 2016, over £930,000 has been donated.

This is a phenomenal amount that will change the lives of those struggling in the Armed Forces community.

In the last year alone, their case management teams have supported 19,857 families, helping them access expert advice and practical assistance. From mental and physical recovery programmes, to financial guidance, housing support, and easing the transition to civilian life, they have been there for everyone in the Armed Forces community, whatever the need.
