It’s been almost 2 years since I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and it’s certainly been a whirlwind. I’m happy to say that thanks to the amazing team at RCHT I am Cancer free and on the 10th August 2020 it will be 2 years! 🌟

After being diagnosed I lost my love for Health Promotion, struggling to see how I could believe in something which had clearly not prevented my illness. It’s taken me along time to FULLY appreciate what I already knew.. that some illness can not be avoided but we can prepare our bodies to fight these as best we can. I believe my level of health really helped me fight my Breast Cancer alongside the traditional treatments.

I recently returned to work down another career path, realising that my health and happiness is more important and focusing on a better work life balance. My love for Health Promotion and the desire to help others still remains and I will continue this page to share articles, posters and anything else which may help us all keep our body’s happy and healthy 💗

🙌🙌 it’s great to see that finally a Sugar Tax on drinks is being implemented. I’m hopeful it will help reduce our sugar intake but to help us make healthier choices I think it’s important that healthier options are made cheaper!

Diet soft drinks are of course readily available but if you know me, you’ll know I’m not a fan of additives and artificial sweeteners! I much prefer natural juices, fruit water and good old plain water 👌

Half of manufacturers cut sugar content, with ministers calling it a good start in fight against obesity.

Please forgive me for my recent silence not only have I been enjoying a wonderful Christmas with my family but I have also been getting my head round recently being diagnosed with breast cancer. As a famous singer once sang “ the show must go on” and it will, I’m just conquering this mountain and I’ll be back 😉 I hope everyone has had a fab Christmas and happy new year 😘 xx

What better way to start the weekend than a 7am cycling session. Really recommend Phil who makes learning cycling skills fun! Loved speeding down the hills and we even spotted a deer 🦌!
