Introducing our teachers… Claire Rogers .yoga ✨

We are incredibly happy to welcome Claire Rogers to our fantastic team of teachers. She’ll be joining our team of cover teachers, teaching her first class at YoGology tomorrow morning (Wednesday, 7-7:50am).

Here’s a bit about Claire and what to expect from her classes:

Yoga first found Claire at university, where it quickly became an important intentional pause in her days - a grounding reset she still values deeply.

After years of dedicated practice, Claire completed her 200-hour teacher training in the UK with the Collective School of Yoga and has since taught a range of styles including Vinyasa, Yin, and Hatha-inspired classes.

Her classes are creative and strong, offering a flowy, breath-led experience grounded in clear, intentional cueing. Claire has a particular passion for teaching in a way that encourages students to move mindfully, with a deep respect for their own bodies - whether that means embracing stillness, exploring progressions, or letting go of ego altogether.

Outside of the studio, Claire works part-time in carbon quantification, and loves trail running, hiking, and learning about injury prevention and longevity in movement.

Festive Rest & Restore ❄️

This session combines the calming practices of restorative yoga and sound healing. Expect a festive twist, including festive scents, a little bit of sparkle and a festive sweet treat to take home.

During the session, you will be guided through gentle restorative yoga poses, helping you to relax and release tension from the body and mind. Whilst resting in a blissful savasana, you will be immersed in the soothing sounds of a crystal bowl sound bath. The healing vibrations of the crystal bowls will wash over you, deepening your relaxation and helping to clear any lingering stress or blockages, leaving you refreshed, balanced, and fully restored.

Join Freya for a 6 Week Beginners’ Introduction to Yoga Course

What to expect?
This course has been designed specifically for those who are new to yoga, or are in the early stages of their yoga journey.

The course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the foundations of a flowing yoga practice, as well as introduce you to traditional poses and pranayama (breathwork).

In each 60 minute class, you will explore a handful of foundational poses which are repeated and built upon until you move through a whole class. This approach will enable you to learn and repeat the most commonly practiced poses, gaining in confidence, developing your awareness of the correct alignment and building upon your skills during each class.

By the end of the course, you will have:
• Learnt the most commonly practiced yoga postures, including seated poses, standing poses, backbends, balances, twists, along with sun salutations and yogic breathing
• Explored the correct alignment, enabling you to practice poses safely
• Learnt how to modify poses to suit your unique body
• Built strength, flexibility and confidence
• Received a basic introduction to yoga philosophy and the history of yoga
• Learnt new skills to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing
• Connected with a small group of likeminded people and enjoyed a valuable learning experience for your self-development and wellbeing
• Developed the confidence to attend mixed level classes
• Had the opportunity to ask questions about your yoga practice and receive support
• Developed the foundations from which to make yoga a life-long practice

All sessions are video recorded and you will receive access during, and for 3 months after, course completion. Great if you need to miss a session or want to revisit the content!

Step into a nurturing space designed to soothe the body, quiet the mind, and invite profound restoration. This workshop blends the healing energies of Reiki, the supportive stillness of restorative yoga, and the deeply restful practice of Yoga Nidra.

Through gentle, fully supported postures, restorative yoga offers the chance to release tension and soften into ease. Reiki, a Japanese energy healing technique, will be offered throughout to encourage harmony and balance. We then move into yoga nidra, a guided meditation often called “yogic sleep”, to take you into a state of deep rest and inner awareness.

This workshop is an opportunity to replenish your energy, nurture your nervous system, and reconnect with a sense of peace and spaciousness. Expect a slow, spacious, and calming environment where you can simply let go and receive.

No previous experience is needed, just bring yourself and an openness to rest.

Join us for MANDALA FLOW every Thursday at 6-7pm

What to expect?

Mandala yoga is a creative and playful form of vinyasa flow that moves in a circular motion around your mat. Guided by the rhythm of the breath, this practice weaves together flowing sequences, dynamic transitions, and moments of stillness allowing you to become present with body and breath. Each class is themed around one of the four elements - earth, water, fire, or air - bringing balance and intention to body, mind, and spirit.

Expect to travel 360° around your mat, build heat, strength, and flexibility, and experience a joyful sense of flow that feels both grounding and expansive.

Did you know that cultivating presence is one of the primary aims of yoga?

✨ What is presence?
At its simplest, presence means being fully here. It’s a state of awareness in which your attention, body, and breath are all gathered in this moment - not scattered into the past or future.

It’s a quality of attention that allows you to experience life as it actually is, rather than through the distortion of memory, judgment, or fantasy.

✨ Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras remind us:
“Yogaḥ citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ” - Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind (Yoga Sutra 1.2).

When the mind quiets, even for a breath, we experience what yoga truly is - not the postures, but the presence.

✨ Next time you practice:
Notice when your mind drifts - to what’s next, to what was. Then gently guide it back to now:
- The texture of the mat beneath your feet
- The sound of your breath
- The quiet space between movements

Each return is an act of yoga - a homecoming to the present moment.

✨ Why do this?
Through practice, we learn to be less reactive, more grounded, and more awake to each unfolding moment - on the mat and in daily life. ✨
