A free creative skills day for young people aged 13-17 yrs, taking place in The Factory at Wakefield Exchange on Monday 30th March, 10:15am-3:40pm. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Today was the children and young people’s diabetes team’s South Asian group! (Photo is Jenny and Shaeen setting up!) 💛

Hot topics included Ramadan and technology.

These valuable and impactful groups offer a safe place to meet, connect and feel understood. (Plus we had with fun games with the young people and enjoyed warm drinks!)

It was brilliant to see so many of our young people with diabetes at our laser party! 💥
We loved how they all got in to the game, enjoyed food together and got to meet others living with diabetes. 🍕🙌

Today we say farewell to our absolutely wonderful nurse Kayleigh Rowe 💫
We have a saying of “every team needs a Kayleigh” for a reason! She has been an incredible part of our team. Her support, compassion, and dedication to young people with diabetes has helped make a real difference. 🙌
We wish her the best of luck with relocating up North! She will be greatly missed. 🍀

The Diabetes UK family events are really fun and valuable experience for young people with type 1 diabetes and their families! 💙🙌

Jenny Coupland, Dietitian, and Dr Mai Ali, St6 at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, both volunteered at last weekend’s “Super Saturday” event! After a busy day, they found it very rewarding to hear how much families appreciated the event. 🥰
