This , Kirsty told us: "Myself and my husband Chris would like to thank the staff at Pinderfields Hospital for their assistance with the safe delivery of our beautiful little boy Rory on the 2nd October.

"From arriving at Triage, to delivering him on labour ward was just over 2 hours! Tiegan working on Triage was absolutely fantastic at supporting me and calming my shock of how quickly everything was progressing.

"We can’t thank Natalie and Beth enough on labour ward for safely delivering Rory. Even though time was clearly of the essence, they ensured we were aware of what was happening throughout and despite the ward being exceptionally busy, the aftercare was just wonderful.

"There are no words to show just how grateful we are to everyone involved in our care - you are all amazing."

This , Stacey told us: "I would like to share my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the various people we met throughout our pregnancy and birth of our son, Nate, born at the beginning of September by elective c-section. We accessed many teams throughout the pregnancy which might have been daunting if it hadn’t been for the high level of care and attention we received.

"From staff at the Early Pregnancy Unit, my incredible community midwife Martha, the team at the Foetal Medicine Unit, Dr Mawson and his team, as well as Cait our theatre midwife and all the team working on labour ward - thank you for the high level of care, kindness and empathy we experienced. We felt supported and listened to throughout our pregnancy and when the time came for the c-section, we were reassured throughout, making the birth of our son a wonderful experience."

💉 We offer both drop-in and bookable sessions for Pertussis, RSV, and Flu vaccinations in our hospital antenatal clinics (Flu is available now until March).

Getting vaccinated during pregnancy is a safe and effective way to protect both you and your baby from serious illness. Vaccines such as Pertussis (whooping cough) and RSV provide your baby with vital protection during their first weeks of life, when they are most vulnerable.

✅ To book an appointment, please speak to your community midwife or drop in at one of the clinics listed below.

💛 This Baby Loss Awareness Week, Castleford mum Rachael Lee shares a story of hope.

After experiencing heartbreaking pregnancy losses, she and partner Ben have welcomed a healthy baby girl, named Nadya-Lou in honour of the doctor who supported them through one of their darkest moments.

Rachael says: “We’ve been through the worst, but Nadya-Lou has given us hope again. We carry all of our babies with us every day, and now we’re soaking up every moment of this new chapter.”

Baby loss affects more people than many realise – 1 in 2 are touched by it each year💔

The Hope Collective, in partnership with West Yorkshire Paths and others, is creating a space where poetry can give voice to these often-unspoken experiences. If you’ve experienced baby loss or supported someone who has, you’re invited to share a poem to help break the silence and show that together, we care.

Submissions are open until 11 December 2025.

💛 From today, in support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, we’re illuminating our hospitals in remembrance of babies lost far too soon.

Events across Pinderfields, Pontefract, and Dewsbury will raise funds for MY Hospitals Charity’s Child and Baby Bereavement Fund, helping to create a new baby bereavement room – a private, quiet space for families at the most difficult of times.

Jenifer Reynolds, a Trust colleague who lost her baby in 2023, shared: "Pregnancy loss is not spoken about enough. People often don’t know what to say or do, but the impact lasts a lifetime. Now I want to support others going through the same pain, which is why I’m helping organise a fundraising dress-down day. Your support will help create a private, quiet space for bereaved families to spend their final moments together."

To support the Child and Baby Bereavement Fund:
• Donate online: bit.ly/MYBLAW25
• Text BLAW to 70450 to donate £5 (plus standard network rate)
• To donate without further communications, text: BLAWNOINFO

This , Abbie told us: "We’d like to say a huge thank you to our midwives Olivia Blankley, Caroline Lackey and all of the amazing team at Pinderfields Birth Centre who were brilliant in supporting us through the super speedy birth of our daughter on 31 July 2025.

"After labouring at home and things ramping up on our journey in, our baby girl was born within 10 minutes of arriving at the birth centre. It was all a huge whirlwind but couldn’t be more grateful for the care we received and, despite how quickly everything happened, the way the team went above and beyond to try and accommodate our birth preferences (even if we couldn’t fill the pool quick enough!).

"We were discharged 6 hours after our birth meaning we could be straight home to our little boy with our new little arrival in tow.

"Thanks so much again for our amazing birth experience - from Abbie, Luke, Noah and little baby Isla."
