Spectrum provides quality healthcare for people in vulnerable circumstances, in 30 sites across the North East, North West and Yorkshire. We work in partnership to provide primary care, substance misuse and sexual health services, in the community and in secure environments including prions, hospitals and immigration centres. 🤔 Did you know? Ketamine use and drug poisonings is the highest on record right now, with eight times more people seeking treatment since 2015 (according to the Department of Health & Social Care).

A new Government campaign has launched to alert young people about the dangers of ketamine, counterfeit medicines, and deliberately contaminated THC vapes. As part of the campaign, experts are highlighting particular risks, including:

- The potentially irreparable damage ketamine can cause to your bladder.
- The dangers of counterfeit medicines containing deadly synthetic opioids purchased online.
- The risks from so-called ‘THC vapes’ that often contain dangerous synthetic cannabinoids like spice rather than THC.

Today is World Mental Health Day! This year's theme is 'Access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies' - highlighting the importance of people being able to protect their mental health in times of global instability.

At Spectrum, our group of Wellbeing Buddies (formerly known as Mental Health First Aiders) are trained to provide valuable support for staff - offering a listening ear to anyone who might need someone to talk to, no matter where they are or which service they work in.
