Are you a Military Veteran?

Did you know that telling your GP you’ve served can change the way you receive care? Whether you served for one day or twenty years, being flagged as a ‘Military Veteran’ in your medical records helps us:

✅ Provide priority treatment for service-related conditions.
✅ Connect you with specialist veteran health services (mental health, prosthetics, etc.).
✅ Ensure your military medical history is correctly transferred to your NHS record.

Next time you visit or call us, just ask the reception team to add the "Military Veteran" code to your medical records

INTERNATIONAL WOMANS DAY

Today we celebrate girls and women all around the world, the amazing things they do, the challenges they overcome, and the difference they make every day.
This year’s theme is Give To Gain. It means that when we help others, we all grow stronger together. When families, schools and communities support girls and women, everyone gets more chances to learn, achieve and shine. Give To Gain reminds us:

• helping someone isn’t losing something, it’s sharing
• kindness makes the world better for everyone
• when girls and women succeed, we all rise

You can join in by:

• cheering on the girls and women in your life
• standing up for fairness
• being kind and supportive to others
• celebrating everyone’s talents

OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS

Knowing the symptoms can help you spot when something isn’t quite right. Ovarian cancer has four main symptoms:

• Persistent stomach pain
• Persistent bloating
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Needing to wee more often

These symptoms can also be caused by conditions like IBS, ovarian cysts or PCOS — so having them doesn’t mean you have ovarian cancer. But it’s still important to get them checked. Other symptoms can include:

• Indigestion
• Back pain
• Changes in bowel habits
• Unexplained weight loss
• Post menopausal vaginal bleeding
• Extreme tiredness

If your symptoms are:

• persistent
• severe
• frequent
• unusual for you

📞 Make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible. Keeping a symptom diary can help you explain what’s been happening and support your doctor in making a diagnosis. Find out more:

Many men won’t notice symptoms early on, so knowing your risk is key. You may be at higher risk if you:

• Are over 50
• Have a dad or brother who’s had prostate cancer
• Are Black

If this sounds like you or someone you know, it’s worth taking a few minutes to learn more. Find trusted information and support here:

ENDOMETRIOSIS ACTION MONTH

March is all about raising awareness, supporting those affected, and encouraging earlier diagnosis of endometriosis.

1 in 10 women and people assigned female at birth are affected by this common but often overlooked condition. Endometriosis can impact every part of life — from physical health to mental wellbeing, relationships, and careers.

Common symptoms include:
• chronic pelvic pain
• painful periods
• pain during or after s*x
• painful bowel movements
• pain when urinating
• fatigue
• difficulty getting pregnant

If you or someone you know experiences any of these symptoms, keeping a pain and symptom diary can be really helpful when speaking to a GP. Early diagnosis means earlier access to treatment and management options, and can prevent the condition from progressing.
