💚 Time to Talk Day 💚

Today is a reminder that talking about mental health can make a real difference. A simple conversation, checking in with a friend, colleague or family member, can help someone feel less alone.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Listening, being patient and showing you care is often enough ❤️

Let’s use Time to Talk Day to start conversations, break down stigma and remind each other that it’s okay to talk. If you need support, help is available:

🎗️World Cancer Day 🎗️

Today we come together to raise awareness, show support and stand with everyone affected by cancer, whether you’re living with cancer, supporting someone you love, or remembering someone special.

World Cancer Day is also a reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, prevention and access to the right care and support.

💛 No one should face cancer alone.

King Street Walk-in Centre – we need your views

The King Street walk-in centre provides care for people with urgent health needs, without the need for an appointment.

Wakefield District Health & Care Partnership wants to hear from patients and local people about how they use the walk-in centre, what works well and where there might be opportunities to improve the service.

Your views will help us understand local needs and shape future services in line with the latest NHS guidance. We are asking people to complete a short, anonymous survey.

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.

This February, let’s show our hearts some love ❤️

Heart disease affects millions of people, but small changes can make a big difference. Eating well, moving more, stopping smoking and checking your blood pressure can all help keep your heart healthy.

💡 Did you know? Checking your blood pressure regularly is one of the simplest ways to look after your heart.

Let’s use National Heart Month to take a moment for our health – and encourage those around us to do the same.

About Us

Maybush Medical Centre is a well-established practice that has operated in the locality for over 100 years. It is one of 37 Practices in the district of Wakefield. The original surgery was situated in a small terrace property at the head of Regent Street in Belle Vue, until it moved into new purpose built premises on Portobello Road in 1997.

Our mission, and the reason why we, as a small NHS organisation exist today, is:

“to provide first point of contact for day to day health advice and treatment”

Based on our aims and objectives, the vision of what we hope to be and our aspiration of achievement in the longer term is directed at:
