As many of you know, supporting charities close to my heart is something I do every year – and our annual Dragon Boat Race in Liverpool is always such an incredible day ✨

We’re putting together a Yogazen team of 17 paddlers to take on the challenge! No experience needed – just a willingness to have fun, get a little competitive, and enjoy a brilliant day out together.

I’ll let you in on a secret: I’m not the strongest or the most flexible Ashtangi out there. My own practice is rooted in the Primary Series, with a few Intermediate poses slotted in when it feels right. But that’s the beauty of this lineage. 🧘‍♂️

Ever since my first teacher, Joanna Woods, introduced me to the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, I’ve been in love. These three beautiful souls came for a class, but they stayed for the tradition. After just one session, they fell in love with the Ashtanga Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa), and witnessing that spark is why I do what I do.
A Little History 📜
The Ashtanga system was codified by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. It’s a rigorous, synchronized breath-and-movement system (Vinyasa) designed to purify the body and still the mind. It’s built on a specific sequence that builds strength, flexibility, and deep internal heat.
I may not be the most flexible or the strongest practitioner out there, but for the last 11 years, my heart has been devoted to one thing: making this traditional system accessible to everyone.
Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned mover—regardless of your shape, size, or age—there is a place for you on the mat in this lineage. 🧘‍♀️🙏

January was busy (deep exhale 😅) and we’re so grateful. Thank you to everyone who showed up, rolled out a mat, rested when needed, and shared the space. Truly thankful 💫
