Yesterday did not go to plan due to motorway closures.

Thankyou to everyone for being so understanding and rearranging where possible!

Here is a very chilled Sid at the end of his sessions yesterday 🥰

Summer's Heating Up – Is Your Horse Hydrated?

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of dehydration in horses. Proper hydration is essential for performance, digestion, an d overall health — especially during training,
travel and turnout in the summer sun.

💧A horse can drink 25–55 litres of water per day in hot weather.
💧Dehydration can lead to colic, poor performance, and heat stress.
💧Encourage drinking with clean, cool water and electrolytes if needed.

✅Check water sources daily.
✅Offer soaked hay or wet feeds.
✅Know the signs of dehydration: tacky gums, reduced skin elasticity, dark urine.

This is the hardest part of owning horses, but seems to hit different when you work with them every day too.

With this in mind, I am having some much needed time off to avoid burnout, and so I can come back refreshed, recharged and able to provide the best possible care for you and your lovely horses.

📆 Normal service will be resumed on the 30th JUNE 📆

I will still be picking messages up, but may have a bit slower reply time.

Earlier this week we welcomed new participant Leonie. Leonie has a heart condition which requires constant monitoring by her consultant via an App as her resting heart rate is very high. She is joining us for well-being sessions which will be focussed on relaxation and just being around our horses. This week she enjoyed Blue’s company and these are her comments after her first session.

‘It’s been a very long time that my heart beat was functioning at a normal rate. I have to also credit Blue for that. I felt such a sense of calm'.

If anyone is interested in the effect the first session had we can tell you her resting heart rate fell from 130bpm to 90bpm!

That’s the power of horses…..
