How the body remembers fear — and how it can finally let it go

Recently, a woman came to see me with severe anxiety and panic attacks.

A few months earlier she had experienced a very frightening moment — she almost got hit by a car while crossing the road. She managed to step back just in time, but the shock stayed in her body.

After that day everything changed.

Every time she approached a road crossing, her body reacted immediately:
her heart started racing, breathing became shallow, her chest tightened and her legs felt weak. Sometimes it even triggered a panic attack.

Logically she knew she was safe.
But her nervous system still felt the danger.
This is how trauma often works — the mind moves on, but the body keeps the memory.
We began working gently with Craniosacral Therapy, helping the nervous system release the stored stress from that moment of shock.
During the first sessions her body started to relax deeply. The breathing became calmer, the tension around the chest and diaphragm softened, and the nervous system slowly moved out of constant “fight-or-flight”.

By the 5th session, something important happened.

She told me that she had crossed a busy street without panic for the first time since the accident.

Her heart stayed calm. Her breathing was steady.

She felt present, aware and in control again.
The memory was still there — but the fear was no longer controlling her body.
This is the power of working with the nervous system.

When the body feels safe again, it can finally release what it has been holding.
If you struggle with anxiety, panic, or lingering effects of shock or trauma, know that your body may simply need the right support to reset and heal.

You don’t have to stay stuck in that state.

Headache & Migraine — Why They Keep Coming Back (and How Craniosacral Therapy Can Help)

If you suffer from recurring headaches or migraines, you know how much they can disrupt your life:

• pain that makes it hard to think
• light and sound become overwhelming
• your day slows down
• sleep becomes restless
• and even medication only brings temporary relief

Almost everyone with migraines has been told the same thing: “Try another pill… avoid stress… change your posture…”but the pain often comes back again and again.

That’s because migraines and chronic headaches are not just “head pain” — they are complex responses involving the nervous system, muscle tension, stress, and the body’s protective patterns.

When muscles around the neck, shoulders and skull stay tense for long periods, they tighten the cranial and cervical tissues.
This tension can trigger the nervous system to react, creating a cycle of pain, stress and restricted blood and oxygen flow.

How Craniosacral Therapy Works
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a very gentle, hands-on approach that supports the nervous system and helps the body release deep tension where traditional treatments may not reach.
During a session, light touch helps the nervous system shift from the stressed “fight-or-flight” mode into a more relaxed “rest-and-repair” state.

Many clients find that:

✨ muscle tension around the neck and skull softens
✨ breathing becomes easier
✨ headaches become less frequent
✨ migraine episodes decrease in intensity
✨ overall quality of life improves

Unlike medications that temporarily block pain signals, CST works with the root of tension and nervous system imbalance, helping your body unwind old patterns of stress.

A Different Kind of Relief

If your headaches:

• don’t fully go away
• return again and again
• bring tension, stress and fatigue with them
• make you feel trapped by pain…

Come and experience a craniosacral therapy session — a gentle, calming and deeply restorative way to support your nervous system, reduce tension and help your body find balance.

❤️ Valentine’s Day — the day of the heart
February 14th is a celebration of love.

When we think about the people we love, our heart beats faster, warmth spreads through the chest, and the body releases hormones of joy and connection.
But love can also be vulnerable.

Heartache, loneliness, unspoken feelings or emotional stress often create a very real sensation of tightness or heaviness in the chest.
This is not “just emotional”.

During stress or emotional pain, the tissues around the heart and lungs can physically tighten.

The diaphragm may spasm.
Breathing becomes shallow.
The nervous system remains on alert.
The body always reflects what we carry inside.

Gentle therapeutic touch can help the heart space soften and open again.
During Craniosacral Therapy, we carefully support the chest, diaphragm and nervous system.

As the body feels safe:
✨ breathing deepens
✨ the heartbeat calms
✨ tension in the chest releases
✨ warmth spreads through the body
✨ the nervous system shifts into rest and balance
Many clients describe it as a feeling of lightness
as if the heart can finally breathe freely again.

Would you like to reconnect with your heart centre?

To feel your chest open and your body relax deeply?

I warmly invite you to experience Craniosacral Therapy at Satori Therapy Centre.

What happens during a Craniosacral Therapy session — and why it’s so important to feel the changes

Craniosacral Therapy can be difficult to understand at first.
It may look like the therapist is simply placing hands on certain areas of the body and “not doing much”.

So people often wonder — what’s the point?

What’s important to remember is that we are tactile beings.
Our nervous system is deeply shaped by touch.
Think back to childhood.
When your mother or father held you, hugged you — what did that give you?
Even if we didn’t consciously realise it at the time, touch played a vital role in our physical and emotional development.

Safe, caring touch gave us a sense of:
• protection
• calm
• belonging
• importance
• connection

As adults, especially when we leave our family home, many of us live with a lack of touch, isolation and constant pressure — often without even noticing how much our body misses this basic nourishment.

How the nervous system responds to touch
Our nervous system reacts immediately to touch:

• Fast, rough or unexpected touch can trigger the sympathetic nervous system — the fight or flight response.

• Slow, calm, grounded touch sends a signal of safety, activating the parasympathetic nervous system — rest and digest.

This is where healing begins.

During a Craniosacral Therapy session, I offer a stable, supportive presence and gently follow the positive changes your nervous system is ready to make.

You may experience:

• warmth or heat from my hands
• wave-like sensations through the body
• spontaneous movements
• emotional release, including tears
• deep relaxation
• visual imagery

With your eyes closed, you may fall asleep or enter a state between sleep and wakefulness.
This state is extremely important — it is where the nervous system makes its deepest healing shifts.

Every craniosacral experience is unique.

If life feels like a constant struggle…
If you feel stuck in fight or flight mode,
if you experience poor sleep, chronic tension or pain, anxiety, emotional exhaustion or low mood —
your nervous system may simply be overwhelmed.

I invite you to come for healing Craniosacral Therapy sessions at Satori Therapy Centre and experience what it feels like to release pain and tension, restore inner balance and reconnect with your vitality and joy of life.

Would you like to experience your own journey of deep transformation and healing?

Your body and mind may be asking for a different kind of support 🤍

5 hidden reasons why your pain doesn’t go away

Have you noticed that pain can disappear for a while… and then come back again?

Very often, the reason is not where we usually look.

Here are 5 hidden causes of chronic pain I see again and again in my practice:

1️⃣ Chronic stress
When stress becomes constant, the body stays in fight-or-flight mode.
Muscles (especially neck, shoulders and back) remain tight all the time.

2️⃣ Overactive nervous system
If your nervous system never truly relaxes, the body cannot fully recover — even with massage or exercise.

3️⃣ Elevated cortisol & adrenaline
Long-term stress keeps stress hormones high.
This increases inflammation, pain sensitivity and exhaustion.

4️⃣ Old physical or emotional trauma
Accidents, surgeries, birth trauma, emotional shocks — the body remembers, even years later.

5️⃣ Lack of deep rest
Not just sleep — but deep nervous system rest.
Without it, pain becomes a pattern.

This is why many people feel that “nothing really helps”.

Craniosacral Therapy works with the nervous system itself, helping the body shift out of chronic stress and into balance.

When the nervous system calms down, pain often has no reason to stay.

If this sounds familiar, your body and mind may be asking for a different kind of support 🤍

Why does chronic pain keep coming back — no matter what you try?

Massage helps… but only for a few days.
Physio works… then everything returns.
Painkillers mask the pain… but never solve it.

And slowly, frustration grows.

Neck tension.
Chronic back pain.
Shoulder tightness.
Headaches.
Deep tiredness in the body.

Very often, the real reason is not weak muscles or poor posture.
It is chronic stress stored in the nervous system.

When stress becomes long-term, the body stays stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

Muscles remain contracted — especially in the neck, shoulders and back.

Blood flow reduces.

Breathing becomes shallow.

Pain sensitivity increases.

This is why pain keeps returning.
If your body never truly relaxes, it cannot fully heal.🤍
If your pain keeps returning…
It may not mean that your body is weak or damaged.

It may simply mean that your nervous system needs deeper support.

Craniosacral therapy can become the key that helps your body break the cycle of chronic stress, tension and pain.

I’d like to briefly share what craniosacral therapy is and who it can help 🌿
People often come to me because of:

– chronic tension in the body
– headaches or migraines
– anxiety or emotional overwhelm
– poor sleep and constant fatigue
– feeling stuck, exhausted or disconnected from their body

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a very gentle, hands-on therapy that works with the nervous system and the body as a whole.

The method has existed for over 100 years and comes from osteopathy. Its name comes from two words:

cranium (the skull) and sacrum (the sacrum) — two key areas connected through the nervous system.

Our brain is the main control centre of the body. Stress, emotional overload, old injuries, surgeries, birth or psychological trauma can all affect how the nervous system works — even if this happened years ago.

Very often the body is constantly “on”, tense, tired, or unable to fully relax.

Craniosacral therapy helps the body gently release deep tension and move towards balance — without force or manipulation.

A session is very calm and relaxing. You stay fully clothed, lying comfortably on the table.
Many people say they feel deeply relaxed, grounded and lighter afterwards.
