I’d love to post this on here for you to pass on to others to print and keep in the hope of they start ticking these boxes they consider referring to an occupational therapist.

Of course we are a private occupational therapy service in Wakefield Yorkshire England but I’m putting it out there to help people all around

We offer a pre assessment service to support people discuss their initial problems and determine what service would be right for them. If it is occupational Therapy we are always happy to help, or refer on to statutory Services if that’s what they choose. We are just giving people the knowledge to proactively keep themselves and loved ones safe. Feel free to copy and paste the below to your feeds 😊

Not sure if Occupational Therapy could help you or someone you care for?

A lot of people struggle on for far too long thinking
“This is just how things are now”
or
“I don’t want to bother anyone.”

Based on feedback from clients and families, we’ve created a simple OT Checklist to help spot when everyday difficulties might need more than just “getting on with it”.

The checklist helps you think about things like:

• Mobility and falls
• Dressing, washing and daily routines
• Fatigue, pain or reduced confidence
• Memory, concentration or safety concerns
• Managing at home, work or out in the community

It’s designed for families, carers, employers and local services who want clarity without medical jargon.

✔ Quick to read
✔ Easy to use
✔ No healthcare knowledge needed

If the checklist raises questions, it can help you decide what your next step should be
Whether that’s Occupational Therapy input or something else entirely.

And if you’re still unsure whether OT is right for you, we also offer a pre-assessment service.
we’ll talk through your situation, help you make sense of it, and point you in the right direction saving time, stress and unnecessary referrals.

Not sure if Occupational Therapy could help you or someone you support?

We’d be very grateful if people could share this post to help those out there that may need our support but might not yet know it!

Based on feedback from our clients and their families about not always knowing when Occupational Therapy may help them,

We’ve created a simple OT Checklist to help spot when everyday difficulties might need more than just “getting on with it”.

The checklist helps you think about things like:

• Mobility and falls

• Dressing, washing, and daily routines

• Fatigue, pain, or reduced confidence

• Memory, concentration, or safety concerns

• Managing at home, work, or in the community

It’s designed for families, carers, employers, and local services who want clarity without jargon.

✔ Quick to read

✔ Easy to use

✔ No medical knowledge needed

If the checklist raises questions, it can help you decide what your next step should be whether that’s OT input or something else entirely.

If you are still unsure if an OT can meet your needs either in statuatory services or privately. We are currently running a preassessment service for a £70 one off 45 minute appointment we’ll chat through your situation and point you in the right direction of who and how may be best to help you. And if it is OT4life, you choose. £70 will be deducted off your initial assessment and report.

It has certainly been a week of Training at OT4Life Today came with a little twist.

We spend a lot of time making sure staff are confident with falls prevention and know the early signs to look out for. But we also believe our residents and service users should feel empowered to manage their own Mobility. Knowledge is power, even more so when you are trying to stay steady on your feet.

Today we delivered one of our resident friendly falls talks. These sessions are designed to spark conversation, build confidence and keep people happy healthy and independent in their homes and care settings.

We also ran one of our walking MOT sessions. Every walking aid in the building had a full spot check and we swapped out all the tired worn down ferruls for fresh new ones. Small changes like this make a massive difference to stability and safety.

A good chat a few laughs and safer walking for everyone. Not a bad day at all. More of this to come as we keep pushing falls prevention forward across our local communities.

Excellent day delivering 2 training packages we have available. first off was my friends at 🤝🏼 SAM Networking and Marketing 🤝🏼 where we shared some laughs and delivering the message regarding falls prevention

Secondly, was the excellent team at Radfield Home Care Limited Leeds & Ilkley we were invited up and completed a staff specific Falls prevention training session looking at factors around falling the consequences of a fall and of course how other Occupational Therapist at OT4Life can support people experiencing frequent faults and prevent further incidents in the future

Both absolutely excellent talks with great feedback. I’ve gotten quite used to doing these now and now the nerves are under control. They’re getting quite fun! onto our next one of the week this afternoon in another local Care facility who have requested the training for both their staff and their residents. more photos to follow 👀👀
