We spend so much of our lives at work and, after 22 years in large corporate organisations, I understand first hand the pressures teams, and leaders, can face.

Tight, and often moving, deadlines, high expectations, and navigating different personalities can all impact performance, wellbeing and stress levels.

Through Ahimsa Therapies, I support businesses by helping teams feel calmer, more focused and empowered.

Using a combination of hypnotherapy, guided meditation and NLP techniques, I offer tailored support including 1:1 sessions, small group work and wellbeing workshops.

If you're looking to genuinely support your teams wellbeing, I'd love to chat.

Send a message to find out more or drop me an email at kirsty@ahimsatherapies.co.uk.

"The only cure for grief is to grieve" Dr. Earl A. Grollman

We will all face grief during our lives. And not only when someone we love dies. We can grieve the loss of relationships, our health, time, animals, the natural world and hopes & dreams we had for the future.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve, no "one size fits all". But, we must allow ourselves to grieve, to connect with our pain and acknowledge what we've lost.

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful but gentle and safe way to connect with your grief.

If you'd like some help to make sense of your grief or connect with it in a way that feels meaningful, please get in touch.

I'm opening up some online appointments at a reduced rate for those most in need.

I want to do what I can (however small) to help make the world healthier, happier and more peaceful.

And I understand that people are struggling financially and that travel isn't always easy or convenient.

Hypnotherapy can be just as effective online as it is face to face as long as you have a stable internet connection, a quiet place where you won't be disturbed and somewhere comfy to sit.

If you'd like to have a free consultation and find out how I can help, leave or a comment or drop me a message.

In the last few weeks and near where I live, 2 people have taken their own lives. The number will be higher but these are the ones I'm aware of because it happened in public.

And the comments on social media have been nothing short of shocking. Not just being unsympathetic to those who decided to end things but blaming them as though they're somehow at fault for feeling so desperate they couldn't see a way out.

Sometimes, there are no signs that people have reached their limits. But often, they've tried for years or even decades to get help.

Mental health services are woefully underfunded and we need to continue to demand change.

But as a society, as individuals, as communities we need to do better. Much better.

If you've never experienced suicidal thoughts or suffered with poor mental health, it can be difficult to understand how someone can get to a point where they decide to leave their family & friends to pick up the pieces. But that doesn't mean you get to label them as selfish, cowardly or attention seeking. This stigma has got to end.

There are some fantastic resources available from Mind and The Samaritans about how to help people in crisis. And The White Fox Talking podcast has a huge library of podcasts exploring different ways to improve mental health.

My heart goes out to all those that have lost their mental health battle and for those still here dealing with their loss.

Shame. The feeling of being sad, embarrassed or guilty of yourself.

If shaming yourself was effective, you'd only ever feel it once. But in reality, shame makes us feel even worse than we already do and can keep us disconnected, lonely and unhappy.

If you talk to anyone who has struggled with their mental health, the same things come up time and time again:

I'm not good enough.
I'm not normal.
No one else feels or thinks like I do.
There's something wrong with me.
I should be able to take better care of myself.
I should be more grateful for the life I have.

And very often, that's the shame talking.

I often start my work with a client by reminding them that:

There's nothing wrong with them.
What they're experiencing is a very normal response to trauma and/or abuse.
They deserve happiness, safety and hope.

The more we normalise talking about the debilitating impacts of poor mental health, the easier it will be for those suffering in silence to open up.
