🌼 March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 🌼

Knowing the symptoms can help you spot when something isn’t quite right.

Ovarian cancer has four main symptoms:
• Persistent stomach pain
• Persistent bloating
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Needing to wee more often

These symptoms can also be caused by conditions like IBS, ovarian cysts or PCOS — so having them doesn’t mean you have ovarian cancer. But it’s still important to get them checked.

👉 Other symptoms can include:
• Indigestion
• Back pain
• Changes in bowel habits
• Unexplained weight loss
• Post menopausal vaginal bleeding
• Extreme tiredness
If your symptoms are:
• persistent
• severe
• frequent
• unusual for you

📞 Make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible.
Keeping a symptom diary can help you explain what’s been happening and support your doctor in making a diagnosis.

What are the symptoms of Meningitis!

19/03/2026

We’re aware of the recent Meningitis B (MenB) outbreak affecting parts of Kent, with confirmed and suspected cases among young adults and students. Health authorities are actively managing the situation, and we want to ensure our community knows what to look out for and what steps to take.

If you have recently visited the affected area (including university campuses in Kent):

Be alert for symptoms over the next few days.
Seek urgent medical advice if you feel unwell — do not wait for a rash to appear, as meningitis can progress quickly.
If you were identified as a close contact of a confirmed case, you may be offered antibiotics or vaccination as part of the public health response.
Key symptoms to watch for:

Fever, severe headache, neck stiffness
Sensitivity to light
Nausea or vomiting
Cold hands/feet, mottled skin
Drowsiness, confusion, or rapid deterioration These symptoms can appear suddenly and may indicate meningitis or sepsis. Act fast and contact NHS 111 or seek emergency care if concerned.
Vaccination advice for those outside the affected area:

Routine MenB vaccination is offered to babies as part of the NHS schedule.
At this time, wider vaccination is being targeted to those in the outbreak zone, such as students in affected university halls.
If you are not in an affected area, you do not need to take any special action, but you can speak to us if you have questions about your or your child’s vaccination status.

February 2026 – Please Help Us Reduce Missed Appointments.

When someone doesn’t attend their appointment and doesn’t let us know, that slot is often lost and it means another patient who really needs help has to wait longer.

This March, we’re asking all our patients to help us improve access by:

✔️ Cancelling if you can’t make it
✔️ Giving as much notice as possible
✔️ Rebooking if your plans change

A simple phone call or online cancellation can make a real difference for someone who urgently needs care.

Thank you for helping us support our community. đź’™
