Earth Day at The Potting Shed – A Time to Nurture Nature
Since 1970, Earth Day has served as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and care more deeply for our beautiful planet — bringing focus to the very real challenges of climate change, pollution, deforestation, and plastic waste.
At The Potting Shed at Serenity, we are proud to partner with Weleda — a brand that has, for over a century, stayed rooted in harmony with nature. Every drop of their skincare and wellness products is lovingly crafted with organic or biodynamic plant ingredients, grown or sourced with the utmost respect for the Earth.
This Earth Day, we’re gently inviting you to look a little closer… especially at the products you place on your skin. Hidden in many cosmetics are microplastics — tiny, often invisible plastic particles added to give products a certain feel or look. But what goes on must come off… and these particles don’t just vanish. Once rinsed away, they flow into our waterways, lingering for years, affecting wildlife and ecosystems alike.
Here in our sanctuary, we believe in beauty that does no harm. That’s why Weleda’s products are completely free from microplastics — solid, liquid, or semi-solid. There’s zero plastic inside. Just nature, in its most powerful form.
And behind the scenes, the journey toward sustainability continues — with packaging thoughtfully designed for minimal impact. Today, more than 40% of Weleda’s packaging is made from recycled materials. Their glass bottles? Mostly recycled too. And their iconic Skin Food? Now in recycled aluminium — a meaningful step forward, despite the higher production impact, as it leads the way to a future with less waste and more wisdom
