Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just sing through darkness; he lived through it. And in his later years, he faced one of his hardest battles yet: Parkinson’s disease.

For someone who once commanded the world’s loudest stages, Parkinson’s threatened to silence everything. But Ozzy met it with grace, grit, and a kind of defiance that only he could muster.

Even as his body changed, his fire didn’t fade. He spoke openly about the pain, the vulnerability, the fear, and gave strength to millions living with the same condition.

This isn’t just a goodbye to a legend, it’s a salute to every person who continues to show up, speak up, and rock on despite Parkinson’s.

“There’s no funeral for your breasts. No eulogy. Just a body you have to relearn how to love. One day, maybe.”

Read Emma's story; she was just 29 years old when breast cancer turned her world upside down. Now, after a double mastectomy, she’s sharing her story, not just of survival, but of grief, identity, and strength in the most vulnerable places.

This is a story of a woman rebuilding her self-worth, scar by scar.

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and felt like a stranger to your own body, this is for you.

This week, the Advertising Standards Authority banned nine adverts, including a high-profile Instagram post by Gemma Collins, for unlawfully promoting prescription-only weight-loss drugs to the public.

With the rapid rise of GLP-1 injectables like Ozempic and Wegovy, and increasing use of influencers and paid search to promote these services, we're entering a grey zone where health, aesthetics, and marketing dangerously blur.

In this special In Depth edition, we examine:

✅ The ASA crackdown and what prompted it
✅ How social media is shaping health choices
✅ The public health risks of glamorising prescription drugs
✅ Whether regulation is keeping pace with online promotion

Ketamine use in the UK has surged, especially among under-25s. Once seen as a party drug, it’s now at the centre of a growing mental health and public health emergency.

In our latest What the Health is Going On: In Depth, we explore:

💥 A 231% rise in youth ketamine use since 2013

📈 Over 3,600 people started treatment for ketamine misuse last year

🏥 Rising A&E admissions and pressure on youth services

⚠️ Physical and psychological risks, from bladder damage to psychosis

This is no longer a fringe issue; it’s a national concern.

This month, we dive into one of the most profound legislative shifts in decades: the Assisted Dying Bill.

With the House of Commons voting narrowly in favour, the UK is now on the verge of legalising assisted dying for terminally ill adults. But as the bill moves to the House of Lords, questions remain:

▪️ What safeguards are in place for the vulnerable?
▪️ How will it impact the NHS, both ethically and financially?
▪️ Could delays or opposition still derail it?

Our latest in-depth article explores the path ahead, the political divide, and what this historic vote means for the future of end-of-life care in the UK.

Today, we honour and celebrate all the incredible fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and male mentors who have shaped lives with strength, kindness, and unwavering love.

At Academy Care, we see every day how powerful the influence of a father or father figure can be, in the laughter they share, the wisdom they pass down, and the comfort they offer simply by being there.

We also take a moment to lovingly remember all the dads, grandads, and cherished male role models who are no longer with us. Though they may be gone, their impact remains deeply felt in the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the moments that still make us smile. Their presence lives on in all of us as we tackle life without them.
