If you're booked in for a Walking Therapy session with me, be sure to remember a few important things!

Wear comfortable shoes. 👟We will be walking on uneven paths and they may be muddy, so wear some old trainers or walking boots depending on the weather.

Have a raincoat / umbrella on you. 🌧️ The weather can be unpredictable sometimes so it is best to be prepared.

If it is sunny, wear a hat.🧢 and bring suncream.

Bring a bottle of water. 💧 Remember to stay hydrated.

Bring some tissues. 🤧 They might be useful if you have an allergy or a need to cry.

If you take medication, 💊 have it on you.

and finally take a snack with you. 🍎🍌 Walking makes you hungry!

Ubierzcie wygodne buty. 👟Będziemy chodzić po nierównych, czasami pełnymi błota ścieżkami, więc ubierzcie stare lub buty przeznaczone do chodzenia.

Miejcie na sobie kurtkę lub parasol. 🌧️ Lepiej byc gotowym na wszystko.

Będziemy się spotykać w naturalnym i spokojnym otoczeniu, gdzie będziemy rozmawiać swobodnie o naszych uczuciach i nurtujących problemach oraz będziemy pracować nad nimi.

If you’re always “on edge,” there’s a reason.
After trauma, we can become hyper aware of our environment and the people in it because this is what it takes to feel safe.
Our brains and our bodies are trying to protect us from experiencing more trauma.
Hypervigilance isn’t anxiety without cause. It’s your body saying, “We’ve seen this before.”
It’s instinct, not imagination, and definitely not overthinking.
The first step in PTSD recovery is understanding our symptoms and giving ourselves grace.
Be patient with yourself.
