Who knew we had so many talented artists here at Earls Lodge Care Home in Wakefield 🎨✨
Our latest arts and crafts session turned into a full-on gallery moment! With a still life painting activity, everyone got stuck in—taking their time, adding their own creative flair, and surprising us all with some amazing results.

There were smiles, concentration, and plenty of “wow, I didn’t know I could do that!” moments. It’s not just about the paintings either—activities like this help keep hands moving, minds active, and confidence growing.

Safe to say, we’ve got some hidden (and not-so-hidden now!) talent in the building 💛

Bingo, sweets and big smiles at Earls Lodge 💙🍬

Pam had a lovely time playing bingo this week at Earls Lodge Care Home — and even better… she won!

Her prize? A selection of sweets of her choice from our very own shop, Sweet Essentials 🍭

Residents absolutely love visiting the shop — browsing the shelves, chatting about their favourite treats and picking out something special. But let’s be honest… it’s even better when you get to choose your goodies as a bingo prize!

A simple game, a sweet treat and a very happy Pam — what more could you want? 😊

A little time, a lot of care 💙💅

At Earls Lodge Care Home, some of our residents enjoyed a lovely one-to-one pamper session this week — and it was very well received!

With gentle hand massages, a fresh set of painted nails and plenty of relaxed conversation, it was a chance to slow things down and enjoy a bit of well-deserved “me time”.

These quieter moments are just as important as the bigger activities. They help residents feel relaxed, valued and truly cared for — and often lead to the best chats too.

Safe to say… there were lots of smiles (and a few admiring glances at those nails!) 💅✨

☕✨ Coffee morning at Earls Lodge — a firm favourite! ✨☕

There’s nothing quite like a weekly coffee morning at Earls Lodge Care Home, Wakefield — especially when there are homemade treats involved!

This week, residents enjoyed freshly baked scones with lashings of cream and jam… and it’s safe to say they went down an absolute treat 😋

With plenty of chatting, laughter and cups of tea flowing, it’s easy to see why these mornings are such a highlight in the home.

At Earls Lodge, they know how to bring everyone together, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere — and of course, a few very happy (and full!) residents 😊

💙 Everyone has a life worth celebrating.

💙✨ Laughter filled the halls at Earls Lodge! ✨💙

Residents at Earls Lodge Care Home enjoyed a fantastic start to the day, beginning with gentle armchair exercises before moving on to a fun and energetic session with parachute games and ball throwing 🎈

It wasn’t long before the room was full of smiles, laughter and plenty of energy — the kind you can hear right across the home!

After all that activity, everyone was treated to well-earned refreshments, with milkshakes, tea, coffee and biscuits being enjoyed together ☕🥤🍪

Visitors arriving at the home couldn’t help but notice the wonderful atmosphere, with laughter and chatter creating such a warm and welcoming feel.

Activities like these are so important — keeping our residents active, connected and most importantly, enjoying themselves 💙

A story from Earls Lodge Care Home 🥰

💙 Kindness that makes a difference 💙

A huge thank you to Karen Sinclaire, Registered Manager at our sister home in Wakefield, Earls Lodge Care Home, who has kindly donated a laptop and printer to Help 4 Homeless Veterans — a South Yorkshire charity that does incredible work supporting those who have served.

This is a cause very close to Karen’s heart, with her own son being a veteran.

Although Karen wasn’t able to attend in person, the donation was proudly handed over on her behalf by Christian, Home Manager at Thornhill House, when Barnsley’s Mayor, David Leech, and Tom from the charity visited earlier this week.

The equipment will make a real difference, helping the charity continue its vital work supporting veterans in the community.

A thoughtful, meaningful gesture — and one that reflects the values we see every day across Strong Life Care 💙

💛🐣 Easter joy at Earls Lodge 🐣💛

Our residents at Earls Lodge Care Home were absolutely delighted to receive Easter eggs for everyone, kindly donated by the incredible Wakefield Street Kitchen 🍫

This amazing charity works tirelessly to support people facing homelessness and those in need across the community — and their kindness doesn’t stop there.

Their recent mission to collect 1,000 Easter eggs shows exactly what community spirit looks like.
“What if one small thing you picked up this weekend could make someone’s Easter?”

Thanks to the generosity of so many people, it certainly has.

A huge thank you to Wakefield Street Kitchen and everyone who donated — you’ve brought smiles to so many faces 💛
