What an incredible afternoon we had at The Big Sing! It was truly amazing to see the Wakefield community come together for an afternoon filled with singing, dancing, laughter, and great fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success — especially Anthony for hosting the sing so brilliantly, and to everyone who came along and joined in.

The atmosphere was absolutely overwhelming in the best possible way, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves and supporting one another.

We hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did!

Antony will be facilitating our event and hosts our monthly 'Singing for Fun' sessions every month at MAG.

"The years drop off people, faces light up and people leave feeling a lot better than when they arrived."

Come along to QEGs between 2pm - 4pm (doors open 1:30pm). The event is free but donations are welcome to help support our work in the area.

Wondering what Saturday's 'Big Sing' is all about?

We asked Antony, our music facilitator, what he gets out of the work he does with MAG and the power of music.

“Getting people to enjoy themselves. Everybody together smiling, dancing, even crying."

"Music, the arts in general, is meant to hit the emotions. Seeing people respond, in lots of ways, with the tap of a foot or through the playing of one song."

Come along to QEGs on Saturday and experience it first-hand.

TIme for a Spring wardobe clear out? ☀️👖👚

MAG runs a market stall every Friday at Osset Market. All our items are donated and all profits go to helping people living with dementia and their carers.

We’d love to take any good quality women’s clothes. (We’re all stocked up for the minute on men’s clothes.)

Please message us if you can help and we’ll arrange delivery or collection.

Thank you!

Our 'Big Sing' event at QEGs is just one week away!

Antony facilitates our annual 'Big Sing' event and hosts our monthly 'Singing for Fun' sessions every month at MAG. From one-to-one piano lessons to conducting several full choirs, Antony has a passion for sharing his love for music around West Yorkshire and further afield.

"Singing invariably leads to dancing and merriment at the front. The years drop off people, faces light up and people leave feeling a lot better than when they arrived."

Come along to QEGs between 2pm - 4pm (doors open 1:30pm). The event is free but donations are welcome to help support our work in the area.

Our good news post of the week! 🌟
Meet Jordan Adams, the legend running marathons with a 25kg fridge on his back! 🏃‍♂️🧊
Jordan and his brother Cian are on a mission to fight Frontotemporal Dementia, a cause close to home after losing their mum to the disease. The fridge represents the "invisible weight" that families living with dementia carry every day.
With both brothers carrying the gene themselves, they are racing to find a cure. Absolute heroes! 🙌🧡

Thanks for all your generosity in recent weeks. We’ve also been gifted some leftover foreign notes which we have been able to convert into usable cash.

So, if you have a jar full of coppers, a purse of leftover currency (coins or notes), or an old coin collection, please consider donating it to us.

We can convert these into funds to help us support people living with dementia and their carers in the area.

Message us for details, or drop them off at our centre on a Wednesday or Friday between 2pm and 4pm.

Thank you, and please share this with others in the Wakefield area!
