A beautiful transformation for a full marble kerb set, laid in 1954.

This special memorial was given a deep and respectful restoration — a full deep clean with biocide treatment, two of the marble slabs re-lettered, the original vase brought back to life with a deep clean, and a fresh layer of decorative stone & lead letter rejuvenation to complete the look.

During the process, built-up earth was carefully removed, revealing lettering that had been hidden for decades. A powerful reminder of how time can quietly conceal such personal tributes.

The result? A truly stunning transformation.

The six weeks’ holidays have turned the house into a war zone, and to top it off, the van decided it needed a breakdown of its own. 🛠️💥

So we’ve had a few cheeky days off (mainly to keep our sanity).

This black cremation stone had heavy rust staining, caused by the metal vase that had been sat on top for years. We carefully removed all traces of rust, bringing the stone back to life. The lettering was also re-done in gold to really make it stand out again.

Now it looks clean, cared for, and full of dignity — just as it should.🪦🧽✨️🙏🏾

Like so many others, I grew up watching him and was a massive fan as a child.
The red and yellow, the larger-than-life persona, the iconic voice – it was all unforgettable.
RIP to a true legend of the ring. 💛❤️

Another one of my favourite jobs. ♥️
I was contacted by a local historian and asked to restore a 134-year-old grave at Michaelston-y-Fedw Church. 🪦✨️

The site needed a full deep clean and a lot of TLC. Much of the lead lettering had worn away, and what remained was not the usual black lead. I carefully mixed a custom colour to match the original as closely as possible – and it blended in beautifully. 🧽🎨

The grave belongs to Elizabeth Mackie, first wife of Carl Hess.
After Elizabeth’s passing, Carl remarried and had a son – Rudolph Hess.

Rudolph Hess became a senior figure in the N**i party and Adolf Hitler’s deputy. In 1941, he flew solo to Scotland in an attempt to negotiate peace with Britain. He was captured, imprisoned at Maindiff Court in Abergavenny, and later convicted of crimes against peace. He died in 1987 while still serving a life sentence.

It’s fascinating to think how close his prison was to his father's former wife’s resting place, I often wonder whether he was aware.🤔

An honour to work on such a significant piece of history. 🙏🏾🇩🇪

Don’t forget to book in your regular grave maintenance tends.
This includes grass cutting(if needed), stone cleaning, and general upkeep—just the basics to keep things looking neat. Especially if I’ve restored the grave previously, regular maintenance helps keep it in great condition. No point letting it slip back into disrepair after all the hard work!
