💡 Ever wondered about the health of your scooter batteries?
Many of us unknowingly fall into habits that can reduce battery life, but don’t you worry! With Bell Mobility’s handy 5 top tips, you’ll become a mobility scooter battery expert in no time 🔋✨
1 - Always start your journey with at least 18 hours charge! This process is known as priming, and it is vital, as batteries only have a holding charge when supplied 1️⃣8️⃣
2 - Charge in a suitable place! Charging batteries in temperatures under 10C or over 30C may lower the battery capacity 😌
3 - Avoid short frequent charge cycles! Even if the product has had limited use, Don’t let the batteries run down between charging. Regular short charges (less than 2 hours) can lead to a shorter battery life and damage battery cells 📉
4 - Make sure your batteries are stored in a suitable place when not being used! Always fully charge your battery before storing away, never store your batteries on a cold floor, and recharge your batteries every month when in storage so they don't lose their charge over time 🕸️
And last but not least ...
5 - Charge by hours, NOT by lights! The lights on a charger unit are a guide, it’s always better to leave the batteries charging for as long as possible, rather than finishing a charge cycle early because the charger lights suggest the charge is complete ⛔💡
Now that you're an expert thanks to our top tips, you batteries will thank you! Remember, if you take care of your batteries, they will take care of you in return; so it's good to give them the care they deserve! ✨🔋
