A Visit to Howard Chadwick Funeral Services

Today, I had the opportunity to visit Chadwicks Funeral Service, and I was truly impressed. Their funeral home is warm, inviting, and beautifully presented, creating a comforting space for families during difficult times. With thoughtfully designed facilities and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s clear that every detail has been considered with care and compassion.

With Alistair at the helm, all his team offer experience, support, dignity, a welcoming environment and are a trusted and respected Funeral Directors in their local community. It was so nice to spend time with the team also meeting Emily and Ash, people we speak to regularly on the phone, but haven't ever had the opportunity to meet. The lovely picture below is of Alistair on the far right, Neil in the middle and Tom on the left.

I am very much looking forward to welcoming Emily, one of the Funeral Arrangers at Howard Chadwicks to our Crematorium to spend a day with us to see first hand how we work closely together to ensure that the day of the service runs smoothly and fulfils a family's every wish. A Guide to Scattering Ashes: What You Need to Know

Scattering a loved one’s ashes is a deeply personal and meaningful moment. Many choose a location that held special significance, whether it’s a memorial garden, family grave, a favourite beach, or even at sea.

While there are no specific UK laws restricting where ashes can be scattered, there are important regulations to consider:

✅ Private Land – Always seek permission from the landowner before scattering ashes on private property.
✅ Memorial Gardens & Family Graves – These are common and permitted places, but it’s best to check for any local guidelines.
✅ Rivers, Lakes & The Sea – It is advisable to consult the Environmental Agency for guidance on specific locations and environmental considerations.

For those scattering ashes on land they own, in a memorial garden, or over a body of water, permission is not required. However, taking the time to check regulations ensures that this special moment is carried out with respect and care.
