We’ve all heard the phrase “Prevention is better than cure!”

I do not consider myself just a Reflexologist but a Holistic Therapist. I live and breathe a healthy lifestyle as much as I can.

Speaking of nutrition, exercise, good sleeping habits, mindset, mindfulness and shielding myself and my family from negative energies is part of who I have become.

Sadly, not enough people think of prevention as a MUST but often wait until it is too late to seek help.

I don’t write this lightly, self-care in all forms is a MUST. You do not know what your genes have in store for you but you have the CHOICE of doing everything you can to avoid illness.

Have you ever looked in the mirror thinking “my face looks really puffy today!!

If your lymphatic system doesn’t cope very well with extra salt in your diet, the hot weather or because of damaged or removed lymph nodes in your neck or face, you might be familiar with that thought!

If I told you that your fingers are magic, would you believe me?

You can learn to give yourself a gentle lymphatic drainage facial massage, solely using your hands.

Simply activate your lymphatics and boost your glow trying this…

>Place your fingers under your ears and stroke gently down your neck. Repeat 3 to 6 times
>Stroke your jawline with your fingers starting at your chin towards your ears. Repeat 3 to 6 times
>Stroke your cheeks starting at the side of your nostrils towards your ears. Repeat 3 to 6 times
>Stroke your forehead, again from the centre outwards. Repeat 3 to 6 times.
Let me know how you get on.

Note, for extra benefits, you can use gua sha tools like the ones used during the Facial Reflexology treatments booked by my clients.

DM me to book or for more information.

Do you have skills you do not use often enough or forgot you had?

I often use the excuse of “I am too busy” to use reflexology on myself. A few days away walking up or down mountains through woods, on uneven grounds from tree roots to various size rocks, grass and sand are a challenge for feet, legs and even backs.

I am so glad I took the time to stop and treat myself to self-care every day. Without RLD (reflexology lymph drainage), I probably would have been too achy to keep up with my boys 🥰

Many studies have shown how spending time in nature can improve mood, lower anxiety and improve cognition and memory.

Nature provides a mental break by allowing us to temporarily escape.

Nature has a therapeutic impact because exposure to trees and other green spaces leads to increased dopamine production, the ‘feel-good’ neurotransmitter.

So have you had your dose of nature today?

Did you know that Deep Breathing isn’t just calming? It literally pumps your lymph because your diaphragm acts like a bellows, gently squeezing lymph along its path.

There are many variations on the Box Breathing technique but you can start with the following - even at your desk, try this now…

>>Inhale slowly for 4 counts
>>Hold your breath for another 4 counts
>>Exhale for 4
>>Hold again for 4
>>Repeat 3 times

Do you feel clearer? Your lymph does too!

Every therapist will agree, breathe deeply because your lymph needs it!

Desk job? Lymph nightmare!!

3 signs your desk job is slowing your lymph…
🥹 You feel sluggish or stiff after sitting
🥹 Your skirt or trousers feel tighter by the afternoon
🥹 After brain fog is a daily occurrence

Simple steps you can take every day…

Remember to stretch, sip water throughout the day and go for a gentle walk after lunch. And if your lunch break allows, treat yourself to a Reflexology Lymph Drainage (aka RLD) session available weekdays at 12 and 2pm.

DM me or book direct from my website www.holistictouchreflexology.com (link in the bio).

Lymph is life but ONLY if it moves!!
WHY?
Because it doesn’t have a pump like your heart does so it relies on movement - no, not burpee! Anything that keeps you body moving like walking and stretching will do the job.

🛑 Did you know that deep breathing helps move lymph?

So if you’ve been feeling tired, puffy or slow lately, maybe your lymph is just a bit sleepy 🥱

And to really give your lymph a nudge, think RLD. Book online (link in the bio) or DM me for availability.

Ever feel puffy, heavy or like your body’s holding on to water for dear life?

That could be your lymphatic system waving a little white flag!

Here are some signs your lymph might be crying out for a bit of gentle support:
>>Your rings or shoes feel tighter than usual
>>You get puffy around your ankles or under your eyes
>>You wake up feeling ‘heavy’ even after rest
>>Your energy dips easily and you feel “foggy”
>>You stay sore for ages after a workout
>>You feel cold in hands or feet, even in warm weather

These can all be clues that your lymph is a bit stagnant, especially common during hormonal shifts, peri/menopause and for those who sit a lot, have had surgery or live with conditions like secondary lymphedema.

🦶 That’s where gentle help like Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) makes a big difference. It’s soothing, non-invasive and designed to stimulate lymph flow naturally, helping you feel clearer, lighter and more energised.

If you’ve been nodding along to this post, remember that you do not have to just “put up with it”.

Let your body feel supported inside and out and try RLD to enjoy the hot summer ahead. See link in the bio to book your session.

Did you know your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump like your heart?

It relies on your daily movement to do its job like clearing waste, moving immune cells and reducing fluid build-up.

But here’s what is good to know as well: You do not need a sweaty workout to support it.

Start with…
>>A gentle walk
>>Stretching or yoga
>>A few minutes of breath work
>>Even bouncing on your toes or shaking out your arms

All of this helps your lymph flow more freely and your body will always thank you for it.
My personal favourite is dancing. Why not move to your favourite track while you cook? Nobody will know and you will boost your mood at the same 🙂.

And if you suffer from chronic swelling, remember that Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) also helps you feel lighter, clearer and rebalanced from the inside out.

On a week like this week with temperatures soaring, that’s the kind of relief my clients really welcome!

If you want to try RLD this week, pop me a message or click the link in the bio to book your slot. They go fast!

Let’s talk about something flowing silently through you right now…
No, not your thoughts or coffee! I’m talking about your Lymphatic System.
It’s one of the most powerful, yet least talked about systems in your body.
Your lymphatic system is like your internal clean-up team, a vast network of vessels and nodes that move lymph fluid around your body.
Think of it as a silent highway under your skin, helping to:
✔️ Clear out toxins and waste
✔️ Support your immune system
✔️ Reduce swelling and puffiness
✔️ Transport nutrients and white blood cells
✔️ Drain excess fluid so your tissues don’t hold onto water
It doesn’t have a central pump like your heart and solely relies instead on movement, breath and touch to keep things flowing, which means that when it gets sluggish, you might experience the following symptoms:
– Bloated or puffy
– Run-down or more prone to colds
– Sore after workouts
– Foggy, tired or “heavy”
But the good news? You can help your lymph flow again, naturally with things like gentle movement, hydration, breathwork, and one of the most effective (and relaxing!) tools I know:
👉 Reflexology Lymph Drainage aka “RLD”.
This July with the heatwave we’re experiencing, I am making it the Month of the Lymph to get you flowing, glowing and feeling lighter all round.
Follow along if the above symptoms apply to you let’s get things moving, inside and out!

How I stopped letting that little voice in my head rule my life

You know that feeling don’t you when you find yourself at work wishing you didn’t have to deal with office politics or difficult clients, having to deliver projects under pressure from other people involved in them or maybe even simply wondering why you do what you do because in truth, your heart isn’t in it anymore (or maybe it never was!).

And yet, when you pause and start using your rational brain, you decide that leaving your job isn’t doable because you think it’s too late to change careers, you don’t have time to retrain or don’t even know what you would do instead. More importantly, the idea of losing your regular income which - comes to think of it is pretty good - in fact scares you. And you decide against your initial feeling, the one that came from the heart, the one that told you you’re not happy and that something needs to change.

You’re definitely not the only one. I have been there but I woke up one day thinking enough is enough and in a moment of clarity I knew I had a choice. To either carry on the way I did no doubt heading for burnout or to take a leap of faith…

An idea had been germinated in my head for a while, a feeling that was getting me excited.
That’s how I became a holistic therapist after 15 years working as a Translator in the IT industry, because I followed my instincts! My instincts also got me to where I am now, having added transformational coaching and hypnotherapy to my skills. Pulled towards these modalities not by reasoning (did I have the time to study again now that I had 3 boys and a pet to look after?) but by listening to what really mattered to me and how I wanted my life to look like.

Do I regret my decision? No

Was it always easy? No

Would I do it again? Yes

Did I have the support of everyone around me at the time? No

My work is now far more fulfilling, helping others live the life they aspire to fills me with real joy and that’s because when you follow your gut instincts and your heart, you’re more likely to feel aligned with your true self.

My question to you is this one…

Have you ever made a decision just to stay safe?

26/06/2025

When most people think about muscle recovery, they focus on proteins, stretching and rest. But there is a powerful player in the background: your lymphatic system! Its role is key for dealing with inflammation, delivering immune cells and rebuilding tissue after stress, injury or training.

And I am so glad I learned that during my reflexology training because with 3 very active boys who love martial arts and football, we’ve seen many overtired or torn muscles.

I feel very fortunate to be able to attend to their injuries straight away with either vertical reflexology techniques and reflexology lymph drainage techniques which never failed to speed up recovery and even trips to the Minor Injuries.

So what exactly happens during muscle repair?

When muscles are overused, strained or injured, tiny tears occur in muscle fibers (especially post-exercise) which is when the body initiates what is called an inflammatory response to start the repair process.
Immune cells are then being sent to the site of injury to clear “debris” (dead cells, fragments of tissues or other substances that interfere with the normal functioning of the body.)
When their job is done, new tissue and fibers are rebuilt and strengthened.
But for healing to occur properly, all the cellular waste, damaged proteins, excess fluid and inflammatory by-products need to be cleared. That’s when the lymphatic system plays its crucial part…

If you keep yourself fit but tend to injure yourself more easily now that you have started your perimenopause journey, I can help speed up your body’s healing process and you will love the treatment because reflexology is not only powerful, it’s also and above all extremely relaxing.

Our Story

My name is Carole BENNETT and I am qualified in Maternity& Fertility Reflexology as well as in Reflexology Lymph Drainage and Reflexology for the treatment of Pain. I am also a qualified Indian Head Massage Therapist. Reflexology offers many health benefits especially when your body or mind is under stress as it re-balances all your body systems (endocrine, nervous, muscular, skeletal, urinary, lymphatic, cardiovascular and reproductive) in order to optimise their functions and thereby your general wellbeing. I personally discovered Reflexology when I was pregnant with my first child and I wish I had tried it before. My aim since has been to make other people (women, men and children) benefit from this wonderful, non-invasive and immensely relaxing therapy. If you feel you are under stress because of your work or family situation or because of a health condition, this gentle, yet very effective therapy could help. If you are trying to conceive, both Maternity and Fertility Reflexology can help optimise your chances of getting pregnant. Maternity Reflexology can also help with many ailments women experience during their pregnancy as well as during the menopause. For more information, visit my website www.HolisticTouch-uk.com
