We often wait to feel motivated before we start. But the truth is, motivation rarely comes first. It shows up once we’ve already begun.
Action creates momentum. When you take even a small step, your mind starts to focus and your body follows. That’s why the hardest part of any task is the start. Once you’re moving, it gets easier to keep going.
If you’re struggling to begin, tell yourself you’ll do it for ten minutes. You’ll often find that once you start, you want to keep going.
It’s the same with self-care. You might not always feel like taking a break or booking time to rest, but once you do, it reminds you how good it feels to prioritise your wellbeing.
Take one small step today. Start with ten minutes of calm, or book a float and let that first step carry you toward balance.
