Men’s Peer Support Group - and they say men don't talk

This Tuesday at The MindKind Projects was one of those nights that sticks with you. We had our usual peer support but added something special to our fireside-style chat, a real fire to gather round.
No phones, no noise just a group of men talking honestly, listening deeply, and holding space for each other. Vulnerability showed up, and so did strength.

One of our own celebrated his birthday with us. No fancy plans, no big expectations. He chose to spend his evening here, with the group.

He said: “It's nice to spend my birthday with my friends”

Moments like that are why this group exists.
We’re building more than a support group, we’re building a brotherhood. A place where men can show up exactly as they are, no masks, no pressure. Whether you’re talking, listening, laughing or just breathing it all counts.

They say men don't talk. Men do talk, when the space is right.

Every Tuesday at 7:00PM - 8:30PM

Women's Wellbeing and Culture Club, Body Composition Checks

This week, our ladies got the chance to take part in a FREE Body Composition Check with support from Walsall Leisure here at The MindKind Wellbeing Centre.
Using specialist TANITA body composition scales, participants received detailed insight into their body fat %, muscle mass, water levels, metabolic age, and more.

This amazing technology helps you understand your body and making informed choices for your health and wellbeing.
A big thank you to Zoe from Walsall leisure who provided personalised advice and encouragement to each attendee.

Rooted in care, growing in community

The Community Garden Club and Sister’s Circle has been more than a garden and space for mums, it's now a space where our women and mothers come together to reconnect, recharge, and root themselves in something meaningful.

From planting seeds to sharing stories, this is where hands get dirty, hearts get lighter, and bonds grow strong. Every herb, leaf, and flower carries the care of our community built on motherhood, laughter, and love.

A MindKind Project to grow wellness, one sister at a time.

This Men’s Health Week, We’re Listening. We’re Acting. We’re With You.

At The MindKind Projects, we know that supporting men’s health means more than raising awareness it’s about creating spaces where men feel safe, seen, and supported. That’s why as part of Men’s Health Week, we’re proud to continue working with men across Walsall and beyond.

We’re here with real, practical support from peer groups where men can connect and talk openly, from Be.MindKind a Positive Psychology course that build resilience and wellbeing, one-to-one guidance, tailored ADHD peer support groups, and a growing range of community led activities all designed with and for men.

Our Where I Am project reached over 1,000 men in the past year, and their voices are clear, when support meets men where they are, it works.

We invite you to read the full Where I Am report a powerful call to action based on what men themselves have told us needs to change.

Read the Report Here:

This Men’s Health Week and every week, we remain committed to building the kind of support men can trust, relate to, and take pride in. Because real strength is knowing when to lean in, not just tough it out.

Yesterday, 8 members of our MindKind Men’s Forum and our wider team working with men’s wellbeing attended RUM at the a raw and electrifying production exploring masculinity, trauma, and generational cycles.

As powerful as the play was, and boy was it powerful , it was the brave conversations afterwards that left the deepest impact.

“Unfortunately it often takes a life shock like a death to break the cycle of learnt scripts. Basically parenting the way you were parented... Most people aren't mindful of repeating the same mistakes of parents. It is just all they know of parenting.”

“The pub hero built on amount of pints you drink, coke you snort and blokes you knock out is huge. A lot of it built on shame and a frustration with status… the status of the male provider is arguably tested more today than ever.”

“For me as a 60 year old it was very familiar the difference now is co***ne use. The pub 'heroes’ where power was measured by violence and ‘bottle’... respect was actually fear... little has changed in 50 years.”

“How little attention is paid to the need for anaesthetic in our world but how it silently influences so much of what we are as a society... the importance of role models that challenge destructive behaviours.”

“Thought provoking how the influence of positive/negative male role models affects a person’s aspirations... lack of a support mechanism for men to express emotions and feelings.”

These reflections are why we do what we do. Our men's work is about more than support. I’s about building new narratives, interrupting cycles, and offering real, grounded relection on the links between masculinity and wellbeing.

We're grateful to the team behind RUM for creating such a timely and necessary piece of work. Thank you for being a mirror, a call to action and a conversation starter. Beautiful and challenging theatre.

PS.Extra special was that it was one of our forum member's 1st time to the theatre!

P.P.S - Sorry about the dodgy picture. We remembered to take one after a few people left!

ADHD can be Loud or Quiet. Crippling or Manageable. All in the same five minutes.

If you’ve ever felt like no one else gets it. Maybe you can't quiet understand it yourself.

You are not broken. And you’re exactly who this space is for.

Common Threads isn’t therapy. It’s not a seminar.
It’s a peer-led space for anyone who’s ever felt mislabelled, misunderstood, or completely burnt out trying to keep up in a world that wasn’t built for your brain.

We meet twice a month at The MindKind Wellbeing Centre, sharing real talk and shared experience, science backed insights, messy breakthroughs, creative coping tools, and reflecting on the everyday chaos of living with (or around) ADHD.

Whether you’ve got a diagnosis or not, a lot of questions, want to support someone close to you, or just have that gut feeling that you don’t fit the mould, you’re welcome here.

🗓️ When? Every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month, starting: 4th June 2025
⏰ Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm
📍 Address: The MindKind Wellbeing Centre, 10 Proffitt St, Walsall, WS2 8AP
📞 Info: Jamie@TheMindKindProjects.com | 01922 632170

A Table Full of Culture, Care & Connection

There’s something truly special about sharing a meal and a moment with women from all walks of life. At our Women’s Wellbeing and Culture Club, we filled the room with flavour, laughter, and stories everyone brought their favourite dish and their incredible selves.

From little ones to grandmothers, every voice, every background, and every contribution made this a celebration of resilience, community, and joy.

These moments remind us why spaces like this matter where women can unwind, express themselves, and connect through shared experiences and culture.
