We are currently recruiting for Community Support Workers to work in our Supported Living Service in Walsall. You would be supporting one individual with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity with real career progression.

Purpose of role
Contribute to the ongoing support of Service Users, promoting their rights, independence and individuality.
Undertake the role of Key Worker to identified Service Users, supporting them to live a meaningful and valued lifestyle.

β’ QCF Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification
As a Community Support Worker, your day to day tasks will include:
β’ To provide support and personal care to individuals so they can live as independently as possible.
β’ To provide emotional support and encourage individuals to help themselves live fulfilling lives.
β’ To carry out domestic duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and helping the individuals with personal finances.
β’ Work flexibly according to the Service Users needs and wishes.
β’ Supporting individuals with taking medication, storage of medication and to follow record keeping procedures.
β’ Participate in training opportunities, formal and informal to gain a wide understanding of Service Usersβ needs and disabilities so as to facilitate their independence and choice
β’ Provide the opportunity for individuals to take part in leisure, social and education activities.
β’ To be able to deal with Challenging Behaviour and to diffuse situations using a Positive Behaviour Support approach
The post-holder will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, management colleagues, visitors, carers, visiting professionals, commissioners and registration bodies.
