4 weeks ago, the new hybrid mattresses were launched across the acute sector including The Manor Hospital, Hollybank Inpatient Unit and The Palliative Care Centre Inpatient Unit.
The rollout was an intense week where over 500 mattresses were switched over but the team worked hard alongside direct healthcare in order to achieve the switchover, we couldn't have done it without the amazing support from the ward staff and understanding from our patients who made this possible!
These mattresses (pictured below) offer both foam pressure relief, with the ability to also switch to powered alternating air pressure relief. This reduces the waiting time for patients who need air mattresses and reduces the risk of developing pressure ulcers and improving patients outcomes ⭐
