Right now is developing England's first ever Men's Health Strategy, and it needs your input. This is your chance to help shape the future of Men's Health.

Men’s Health impacts each and every one of us, which is why this survey is open to everyone. Take the survey before it closes on 17 July, and let's make real change.

Last November, the UK Government announced their first ever Men’s Health Strategy, aiming to address the biggest problems facing men’s health today.
We’re encouraging people to fill in the government’s survey to help better men’s health.
Now is the time to make this Strategy into a reality. The open call for evidence is live and this is where we need your help. The survey is open to everyone – from individuals to organisations – and we want to ensure everyone has a chance to respond and have their say on what the future of men’s health should look like.
How you can get involved?
Men’s health impacts each and every one of us. Which is why this survey is an open to anyone be it men, loved ones of men, clinicians, you name it!

The post below provides a template to use to voice your opinion.

Later today MPs will vote on a new law which, if passed, will cut vital support for sick and disabled people. Even with the concessions the government has made to the PIP and Universal Credit Bill, huge cuts are still on the table for new claimants, who will receive less support to meet the same needs. This two-tier system is clearly unfair.

As a society, protecting people, and enabling them to live independently is the right thing to do, now and in the future. That’s why we've come together with Trussell and over 80 other organisations to send a clear message to the government – we stand firmly with disabled people and we need MPs to say NO to these harmful cuts.

And we won’t stop. We will keep working with supportive MPs, organisations and you to make our voices heard.

🌞 Keeping Elderly and Vulnerable People Safe During a Heatwave 🌞

With temperatures rising, it’s important to take simple but vital steps to protect elderly and vulnerable people during a heatwave. Here’s how you can help keep them cool, safe, and well:

💧 Keep Hydrated
Encourage regular sips of water throughout the day – even if they don’t feel thirsty. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, and offer hydrating snacks like jelly, ice lollies, or fruits such as melon and oranges.

🏡 Cool the Environment
Keep curtains or blinds closed during the hottest parts of the day (11am–3pm) and open windows when it’s cooler in the early morning or evening. Fans can help but should be used safely with good airflow.

👚 Dress for the Weather
Light, loose-fitting clothing in pale colours can make a big difference. A sunhat or a cool damp cloth on the neck can also help lower body temperature.

🛁 Cool the Body
Use cool baths, foot soaks, or sponge the skin with lukewarm water. A light mist from a spray bottle can be refreshing too.

🚶‍♂️ Limit Activity
Try to reduce physical exertion during peak heat hours. Rest in the coolest parts of the home where possible.

👀 Keep an Eye Out
Watch for signs of heat-related illness such as confusion, tiredness, dry mouth, dizziness, or darker urine. If you’re concerned, seek medical advice and don’t delay.

Taking these steps can help prevent dehydration, heat exhaustion, and more serious complications. Please check in on elderly neighbours, friends, and family – a quick call or visit can make all the difference. 💙

🌡️💊 Hot Weather & Medication: What You Need to Know 💊🌡️

With temperatures rising above 25°C, it’s important to check how your medication is stored. Many medicines can become less effective or even harmful if they get too hot.

Here’s what you need to do:

✅ Check the label – Most medicines should be stored below 25°C
✅ Avoid direct sunlight – Don’t leave medicines near windows, radiators, or in cars
✅ Use the fridge if needed – In very hot weather, storing medication in the fridge (2–8°C) is sometimes safest – but don’t freeze them
✅ Use cool bags – If you’re travelling, use an insulated pouch to protect your medicines
✅ Look out for changes – If tablets are sticky, capsules are soft, or creams have separated, speak to your pharmacist

⚠️ Some medications, like insulin, inhalers, thyroxine, antibiotics, and hormone treatments, are especially sensitive to heat.

If you’re unsure, please ask your pharmacist or healthcare provider for advice.

Stay safe and well this summer! ☀️💙

To all of you - thank you for all you do to support those in need. 💚

"Know Your Body: A Quick Check Can Save Your Life"

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men (ages 15-35), but the good news? Early detection saves lives.

A simple, 30-second self-check each month can help you catch changes early—when treatment is most effective.

What to look for:
✔️ Any lumps, swelling, or hardness in the testicles
✔️ Aching or heaviness in the lower abdomen or sc***um
✔️ Sudden changes in size or texture

Why it matters:

- Over 90% of cases are curable if caught early.
- It’s quick, painless, and could literally save your life.

Your body, your health—take charge! 💙

(Drop a ♥️ if you’ll do your monthly check—and tag a guy who needs to see this!)*

Why Self-Awareness & Breast Checks Matter—For Everyone

💙Self-awareness saves lives💙

Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate—it can affect anyone, regardless of gender. Knowing your body’s normal state helps you spot changes early, when treatment is most effective.

For women and men:
- Check monthly—look for lumps, skin changes, or ni**le irregularities.

- Know your risk factors (family history, age, lifestyle).

- Report anything unusual to a doctor ASAP.

Early detection = better outcomes. A 2-minute self-exam could change everything.

(Share to remind someone to check themselves!)

🚨 WINTER FUEL PAYMENT VICTORY! 🚨

We campaigned and the UK Government has listened.

By reversing damaging changes, more older people in financial hardship will now receive this vital lifeline in time for winter.

Your actions have helped make this happen so thank you for your support and commitment.

While this is excellent news, there are still nearly 2 million older people living in poverty. What we need now are measures to ensure the long-term financial security of all people in later life.

'How come you haven’t moved on yet?'

If you’ve had cancer, it’s likely that at some point, someone has said to you something along the lines of 'cancer is behind you now' or that 'you must be glad to move on'. They may have implied, or even directly said that you should 'stop talking about cancer' now, because after all, it isn’t healthy to dwell on cancer, and you know, well, it’s over now, isn’t it?

If only it was that easy!

There’s a bit of a myth that we will finish our treatment with a renewed zest for life, having acquired a zen-like wisdom. The reality is often much more complicated and as grateful as we feel, there’s no escaping the fact that a cancer diagnosis can hit us hard and it’s often only when we’ve finished challenging treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy that we have the chance to take stock.

Dealing with cancer is a huge psychological challenge: many of us feel preoccupied by thoughts of cancer, this can involve worry for the future and we may be grieving so-called 'invisible losses' i.e. losses which are unseen, and because they exist outside mainstream experience we often struggle to find the words to describe them.

Being expected to let go and 'move on' when we face these expectations (from ourselves as well as others) can feel undermining, as if we are being told to 'stop talking about' cancer, or even worse, to 'forget about it now.' So, next time someone expresses surprise that you’re still talking about cancer, or asks you why you haven’t moved on, you can say to them, 'it’s because I’m still dealing with the impact of my treatment' and for absolutely as long as you need to!
