🐴💙 Therapy Donkeys Visit The Lakes 💙🐴
Yesterday afternoon, residents at Waters Edge Care Home enjoyed a truly magical experience as we welcomed the gentle therapy donkeys from Donkey EARS (Donkey Education and Relaxation in Staffordshire).

The donkeys brought so much joy, comfort and calm as they spent time with our residents – who loved the chance to stroke and connect with these beautiful animals. It was a wonderful way to end our month of fundraising and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society, as September is World Alzheimer’s Month.

Animal therapy is known to have incredible benefits for people living with dementia, from reducing stress to sparking conversation and creating special moments of connection – and yesterday was filled with all of these and more.

A heartfelt thank you to Donkey EARS for giving our residents such a memorable and uplifting afternoon. 🐾💙

🎶✨ Music Icon Day at Waters Edge! 🎤🌟

What an unforgettable day we had celebrating Music Icon Day here at Waters Edge!

Residents were treated to a fantastic live performance from the amazing Sarah Bright as Cher, dazzling us with her fabulous tribute show. With classic anthems, big energy and plenty of singalong moments, the home was filled with music, laughter and joy.

Staff joined in the fun too, dressing as their favourite music icons, rocking their band T-shirts and embracing colourful looks from across the decades. 🎶👩‍🎤🕺

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special – creating magical moments and wonderful memories for our residents. 💙

🌊☀️ The Great British Seaside Day at Waters Edge! 🐚🍦

Last week, we brought the beach to Waters Edge Care Home – and what a fabulous day it was!

Residents enjoyed a jam-packed Great British Seaside Day filled with sunshine, laughter and seaside classics. The day featured two brilliant Punch and Judy shows (oh yes it did!), a traditional fish and chip lunch, and a visit from the ice cream van for a sweet treat to top it all off! 🎭🐟🍦

We also hosted our very own beach party, complete with games, sand, and sunshine – bringing the full seaside experience right to our garden. 🏖️🎉

Our wonderful team got into the spirit in their colourful summer wear, adding even more joy and colour to the day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special and memorable event for our residents! 💙

Chick Update at Waters Edge Care Home:

We’re chirping with excitement… 9 of our little chicks have now safely hatched!

The residents have absolutely loved watching the hatching process and welcoming each fluffy new arrival. It’s been a heartwarming and uplifting experience for everyone, with plenty of cuddles, smiles, and gentle handling.

Our Living Eggs project has truly brought a special kind of joy to Waters Edge – and our new feathered friends are getting lots of love and attention!

There’s something very special happening at Waters Edge this week… our Living Eggs project has officially begun, and we’re thrilled to share that two little chicks have already hatched!

Our residents have absolutely loved watching the eggs in the incubator, and seeing new life emerge right before their eyes has brought so much joy and excitement to the home.

We can’t wait to see how many more fluffy arrivals we’ll have over the next few days – stay tuned for chick updates!

🌟 **A Spectacular Burns Night at The Lakes!** 🌟

Yesterday, Waters Edge Care Home was filled with the sounds of Scotland as we celebrated Burns Night in true Highland style! 🎶 Our incredible bagpiper stole the show with a breathtaking performance that had everyone clapping along.

Staff looked fantastic in their tartan, Scottish-themed attire, and blue and white outfits, adding a vibrant touch to the celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us to honour the legacy of Robert Burns and make the day so special! 🥳
