Check out this great advice from Our Walsall about the awareness of Nitazenes and how to stay safe. We also offer Nitazenes testing strips at The Beacon as well. :)
Nitazenes are synthetic opioids that are often hundreds of times stronger than he**in and at least as potent as fentanyl.
Stay safe:
⏱️Go low & slow
🧑🤝🧑Don’t use alone
❌Don't mix drugs, including with alcohol
🤝Look after your friends
If someone overdoses, dial 999 immediately and give Naloxone.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our informative video on drug safety, created in collaboration with Our Walsall, has been featured in Express and Star News! This project aimed to raise awareness about the importance of drug safety in our community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to reach a wider audience through this prominent publication. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us in this endeavour.
Walsall Council, in partnership with The Beacon – Change Grow Live, a local drug and alcohol treatment service commissioned by Public Health, has launched a new animation to encourage residents to prioritise their safety if using drugs and to seek support for alcohol and drug use in the new year.

The year 2024 was a truly remarkable chapter for The Beacon, marked by unforgettable experiences and significant milestones that created a lasting impact on our community.
We proudly launched our first Veterans group, providing a vital support network for those who have served in the armed forces. This initiative not only fostered camaraderie among veterans but also offered essential resources and activities tailored to their unique needs.
Our first Open Day at The Beacon in our newly constructed building was a resounding success. It allowed visitors to explore our facilities, meet our dedicated staff, and learn about the diverse programs we offer. The positive feedback we received reaffirmed our commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all.
In a significant partnership, we collaborated with Our Walsall to highlight our outstanding work with SMART Recovery. This program has empowered individuals to overcome addiction and reclaim their lives, and through this partnership, we successfully showcased its transformative impact on the community.
Additionally, we proudly participated in Walsall Pride, celebrating diversity and inclusion. Our presence at the event underscored The Beacon's dedication to supporting all members of our community, fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and unity.
And this is just the beginning—there is so much more to come as we continue to grow and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
