We have had a little break over Easter, but we are back and ready to introduce you to the newest members of the Black Country MNVP Team on 'Meet the Team Monday'๐Ÿฉท

Please join me in welcoming the lovely Julia, our new Inclusion Lead, covering the Black Country Footprint ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’œ

"My name is Julia and I am the Inclusion MNVP Lead for the Black Country. I have over 30 yearsโ€™ experience working with women and their families in maternity and community settings. For the past 14 years I have worked as an antenatal teacher within a local charity, supporting pregnant and postnatal mothers.

I am a mother of four and a grandmother. My own personal birth experiences, alongside the privilege of supporting many women through their journeys into parenthood, have shaped my understanding of maternity care. While some of these experiences have been very positive, far too many have been challenging.

My previous career as a midwife and Infant Feeding Lead in public health has given me a deep understanding of the NHS, how it works and the difficulties women may face in accessing the right support for their individual needs. These experiences have driven my passion for supporting women, particularly those with complex needs, to navigate the barriers they often encounter within maternity services.

Helping women to feel included in their care, rather than being bystanders while decisions are made for them, is what motivates me in my work. I am looking forward to this role and the opportunity to contribute to positive change, helping to create a more inclusive and supportive maternity service for all."

It is lovely to hear from Julia, stay tuned to meet more new members of the Team....

Join us TOMORROW, Wednesday 25 March 2026, at the Walsall Leather Museum for an event for bereaved parents and their families.

The event is open to anyone whose baby has died at any time during the pregnancy or shortly afterwards who received care across the Black Country, but especially within Walsall Community and/or Walsall Manor Hospital or Wolverhampton Community and/or New Cross Hospital.

The members of the MNVP will be there to listen to your experiences with local maternity and/or neonatal services during your pregnancy, when your baby or babies died and the care you received afterwards.

We have split the day into two separate sessions:

10:00 - 12:00 - Where children are welcome to attend.
13:00 - 15:00 - Where we ask that children (including babies) do not attend, to consider those parents that want to share in a childfree environment.

We also have Faye attending to do some mindfulness and Art Therapy throughout the day.

Please use the link to book tickets.

This Event is for Bereaved Parents & their families to share with the Black Country Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership.
