🖼️ Intergenerational with Robin’s nest nursery Walsall 🖼️

Today we’ve had a look at artist Vincent Van Gough. We’ve had a go at colouring in some of his famous paintings and then making our own artwork.

🎨🖼️ 2026, the year of Artistic Licence! 🖼️🎨

A year surrounding the ethos of freedom to deviate from reality, accuracy and rules to produce something that speaks to the soul and feels completely personal, which is a lot of what Rushall has always been about!

We hope you enjoy joining our creative journey!

Good morning friends and family,

We always strive to provide the very best care for our residents, while also offering reassurance and peace of mind to their families. Feedback is hugely appreciated by my team and I, and it is also incredibly valuable for families who are specifically looking for a care home for their loved ones.

If you would like to share your experience with us, we would be especially grateful for a review on carehome.co.uk, as this is the main platform families use when searching for care.

Providing compassionate, high quality care is truly a team effort on our part, and we're proud of the dedication our staff brings every day. Thank you for being part of our extended care family too.
Phil (General Manager).

🎶Music speaks where words fail🎶

Our whole 2025 has been lead by the universal language. We asked residents and staff about what music spoke to them and why.

Gladys loves waltz and swing as she used to go dancing

Jo was part of her church choir and loves hymns, but also loved dancing to Glenn Miller

Kelly loves Diana Ross and the Supremes as they were catchy

Angie loves 50’s rock and roll as she wanted to learn to jive dance

Tracey loves Chaka Khan as her brother brought her a single of this

Gordon loves western as it reminds him of Rawhide on the TV

Naz loves Bhangra as it reminds her of time with her Auntie

Phil loves Madonna’s immaculate collection as he was gifted it on a recorded cassette.

Martin loves Englebert Humperdink as it reminds him of his mom

This is the tip of the iceberg for why music is so important for us. It’s communication, connection and creativity. Its identity, expression and speaks for us when our words fail.

With love from the new year to every one of you, listen to your favourite song tonight, and celebrate the new year with song and music.

Friends and family, we've had a year full of proud moments, shared milestones and plenty of reasons to smile.

January started on a high with our NAPA Award, which set the tone for the entire year ahead. We celebrated a very special “Welcome Home” as we marked our 10 year anniversary. Alongside wonderful personal moments across the team which included marriages and births. We have welcomed a mayoral visit, strengthened our commitment to inclusion through Pride, and were extremely proud to achieve Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation too.

We have shared equal highs and lows, successes and challenges. Each experience continues to shape who we are and strengthens our commitment to compassionate, person-centred care. We have warmly welcomed new residents into our home, while also remembering with care and respect those who are no longer living here with us.

Our home has been alive with entertainment and memorable themed events. Christmas celebrations recently went very well. Our theme Music Mayhem was a hit this year and next year’s theme will be revealed very soon, we’ve had some really successful fundraising days plus had meaningful resident days out during the summer months.

We have continued to value our intergenerational work, especially as our residents love this special time so much. As a training centre we have continued to welcome students from Walsall Academy, Walsall College, Nova Training, plus also supporting student nurses from the University of Wolverhampton, helping shape the future of care.

Most importantly, we continue to grow our community recognition, we continually drive ongoing quality improvement in house, yet always ensuring that our residents remain at the very heart of everything we do.

Thank you to our residents, families, staff and the wider community for being part of our Rushall journey. The best bits are never just behind us, bring on 2026!! Phil (General Manager)
