We would love to invite you to join us at Kinglea Court as we celebrate St George’s Day with our residents.

Date: Thursday 23 April 2026
Time: From 2.00pm
Location: Kinglea Court, Chingford, E4 7RE

The afternoon will be a relaxed and cheerful celebration, with music from 40s-70s, along with a selection of traditional treats including freshly baked scones, Victoria sponge, classic trifle, tea, and even a little beer for those who fancy it.

It would be lovely to share this special afternoon with you and your loved ones, enjoying good food, music, and time together.

Our church service is a lovely and uplifting part of the week for our residents, filled with familiar hymns, prayers, and readings that many have treasured for years 🎶

“All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.”

The service is held every Thursday at 11am and is led by Rev’d Jane from Church of Holy Innocents High Beach Church

Family, friends, and guests are always very welcome to join us and share this special time together 💚

Over the past few days, something really special has been happening here… 🦆

We’ve been lucky enough to welcome some beautiful visitors to our home, as well as Deer, we have had Ducks and Geese who have decided to stay with us for a while. Each day, residents and team members have spent time feeding them, watching them wander our grounds and simply enjoying their calming presence.

There’s been a real sense of peace in the air. Quiet afternoons spent together, the gentle sound of nature, and evenings watching the sun go down with our feathered friends nearby. Moments like these remind us how powerful the simplest things can be 🌅

Moving into care can feel like a big change.. but here, it’s never “just a care home.” It’s a place filled with warmth, connection, and little pockets of joy like this. A place where nature, kindness, and companionship come together to create something truly special. This isn’t just where people live, it’s become home 💚

Baking is such a lovely way to keep both the mind and body active while enjoying the moment together. Following a simple recipe remembering steps and measuring ingredients helps keep the brain engaged while hands on tasks like mixing rolling dough or using baking tools and instruments support coordination fine motor skills and helps our residents maintain their independence.

It is also a wonderfully social activity where everyone can work side by side have a chat share a laugh and enjoy each other’s company which can really lift spirits and reduce feelings of loneliness. There is something about baking together that creates a warm relaxed atmosphere and makes us feel comfortable and connected 😊

And honestly I have to say, they might just be the best cookies I’ve ever tasted! 😋

Easter joy was in full bloom this weekend! 🌸🐣

A huge thank you to Andrew crowley independent funeral director who donated some Easter Eggs, joined by our CRM Jade who collected the generous donation. Andrew, the Deputy Mayor of Waltham Abbey, has been a fantastic supporter since our grand opening and we’ve built a truly strong relationship together 💚

Our Staff and Residents were treated to beautiful chocolate hampers lovingly put together by our management team and safe to say, they went down an absolute treat! 🍫😊

There’s something truly special about taking a moment to celebrate the people who make our home so warm and welcoming 💚

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of marking some wonderful staff birthdays, and it’s been lovely to come together, share smiles, and create happy memories. These moments may seem small, but they mean so much, bringing joy, strengthening friendships, and reminding us all of the importance of feeling valued and appreciated.

A big happy birthday again to everyone we’ve celebrated recently, you help make our home a brighter place every single day 🎂✨

Today we had a brilliant bit of April Fools fun in the home 😂

After being reminded what day it was, one of our cheeky residents came up with the idea to play a prank and it didn’t take much to bring out the inner child in our staff, who were more than happy to put the plan into action!

Our Maintenance Manager, Luis, being the Gentleman he is, became the target of the prank, expertly led by our amazing district nurse who needed “help” with a bag.

With residents joining in and watching on, it created a moment full of laughter, smiles, and shared joy across the home 🥰

Moments like these remind us that laughter really is the best medicine 💚

We think Luis might be planning his revenge already 😳🫣
