That place we work up to where you feel the light penetrating from the cracks, where the phenomenon of you shines through 💫

Where the layers of conditioning - the negative self talk, the should’s in life and the projections take a back seat and YOU step forth. You take your seat and you do you.

Where the magic of you meets the rest of the world. Raw, natural and how you are meant to be 🔥✨

Allowing the fears, the doubts, the insecurities to be there, but let us not be led by them.

Your journey towards the Self starts here. Get in touch for a chat 📩

We don’t need to go hard to go home 💫 The subtlest shift can be the very thing we need to go beyond our limitations ✨ it can be taking a moment daily to stop and notice how your breath is or checking in to see what your mind keeps pulling your attention to. These can seem so ‘simple’ yet the more awareness we have here the greater we can shift our energy to bring us where we need to be.

Our breath can not only let us know when we start to feel like we’re straying away from our happy place. It can also help ground and regulate us when overwhelm happens. Again, it may feel “small” but believe me, it’s so mighty 😮‍💨

Don’t think you need to shed all your layers all at once to feel better. Slow and steady still gets you wherever you need to be 🥰

What seemingly small shift has given you great awareness? Id love to know.

Love.

♥️🧿

I knew I wanted something different for my 40th Birthday gift. I wanted something that signified my life up until now and wasn’t sure how I would achieve that in something tangible.

But here she is 🥹😍

When I spoke to about what I wanted to capture and the colours that spoke to me (not too much purple, Kellie 😝) I was blown away by what she delivered. EXACTLY how I envisioned it and I can’t stop smiling each time I look at it 🥲

This is a masterpiece reminding me of Love and Connection. Within it has words, memories and parts of some very special people who got to add their own special touch to it during my party.

It connects me back to my values and brings to mind the very essence of what being human means to me. To stay connected to whatever serves your purpose, to keep joy within your heart knowing you have got this and you continue to step into your power even through life’s adversities, and above all, love hard! Show others to magic of being there for each other, of having their back with a heart full of compassion and kindness, to know that we all suffer, it’s a part of being human and if we stick together and support each other and we can all unite in Love ♥️

Here’s to rising up, here’s to life and here’s to Love!

I appreciate each one of you 🥰

A word that can be so misunderstood and one that can cause barriers between seeking help and speaking up about our struggles.

When we think of the work trauma we often relate this to war veterans, natural disasters or serious violence. Whilst this may be the case for some, trauma is a lot more common than people think. Around 1:3 people have suffered a traumatic event () which if left untreated could lead to developing other conditions such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).

Trauma can result from an event that overwhelms a persons ability to cope and can lead to emotional and physical distress long after the stressor has stopped. Some examples of these are experiences such emotional dysregulation (fear, sadness, anger), experiencing panic attacks, dissociation (not feeling connected to your surroundings or feeling detached from your body), irritability, difficulties with sleep are others.

With the right approach and sensitivity, trauma therapy can transform ones life which can bring about profound affects on ones mental and physical wellbeing.

We all know I’m bias towards yoga but there must be a reason why I keep coming back to the practice 🧘🏽‍♀️ and I can hands down say it has held me through many life adversities that have crossed my path and will continue to guide me through life 💫

When we are aware of what we *really* need in order for us to take our space in this universe, we are able to look at this from an understanding nature towards ourselves and develop a greater sense of wellbeing 🥰

I’ve been exploring Carl Rogers recently, an incredible psychologist who taught the importance of the therapeutic relationship and how when the right conditions are met, amazing growth can happen 🌱

I feel this is why I am so drawn to psychotherapy. I love attuning to people and I consider myself a highly empathetic, kind, compassionate and caring person. Am i blowing my own 🎺 here 🤣😬🫣

This may seem basic to some but truly connecting to another, unconditionally and without transferring your own conditioned biases can be actually be tricky.

By becoming curious with your own sense of self, how you respond and view the world can be the most powerful tool not just in the therapeutic alliance but yo yourself and towards your growth and acceptance of yourself. When you can notice what is yours, what is theirs and the gap in between, well that’s when the magic happens….well, it’s not magic, it’s empowerment 🤪! You know what I mean ♥️

My approach to my personal practice has three key elements which I feel are fundamental in life.

🤸🏽‍♀️Strength in both mind and body has always been my comfort. And the word strength here is very subjective in that, it’s not about how long you can hold a handstand or jump between your hands. It’s about creating the inner strength within and knowing that you are capable of doing life. The physical aspect of yoga is important also as it keeps the body mobile and it also helps with our internal world like lymphatic flow.

🪷 Resilience. There’s something about holding a strong pose or being with an uncomfortable pose or feeling within my movement practice and noticing my relationship to it. My default for years was to skip and say “i’ll try again tomorrow” but as always, tomorrow never came. So i started being with now and trying and you know what? It actually proved to me that yes it may not be how i imagined, but most things i did, i gave it my best shot and it wasn’t so bad. Cue real life….shizz happens and facing it and being with it makes it less interesting leas intense and proves we CAN get through it.

Above all, 🧘🏽‍♀️ Regulate. To be able to come back to your grounding, back to yourself and have the tools and practices to invite calm in amongst the storm is such a worthy gift that can affirm to you that whatever life throws your way, you are prepared and absolutely ready for it 😮‍💨

What do you find invaluable within your own practice? I’d love to know your thoughts.

The more I dive deeper into learning how we are shaped in life the more I realise we have such capacity to regulate ourselves and restore balance within our nervous system by tuning into ourselves 🧘🏽‍♀️

This speaks volumes to my own journey with regulating my very active nervous system and how I came to find my own grounding and eventually a more balanced sense of wellbeing 🤸🏽‍♀️

Finding a good therapist is paramount. One who can hold you in your space unconditionally, without judgement, empathetically and bespoke to you and your presentation 🤍

The difference between Yoga and Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy sessions are more refined in dealing with physical symptoms such as;

Pain
Musculoskeletal problems
Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
Parkinson’s
Asthma
COPD
Cancer
HIV
Alzheimer’s
Brain Injury
Multiple Sclerosis
Autoimmune Diseases
IBS
Obesity
Heart Disease
Insomnia
Arthritis
Osteoporosis

Or Mental Health Conditions, such as;
Stress
Depression
Anxiety
PTSD
Schizophrenia
ADHD
Eating Disorders
Addiction
Post-Natal Depression

Whereas Yoga sessions are more rounded on overall physical and mental wellbeing and can include more of the physical aspects of yoga (postures) as this is the most popular.

Always happy to answer any questions 👋🏼

The Eight Limbs of Yoga

A lovely reminder of how to live consciously whilst connecting to the deeper meaning of our sense of purpose, where we find ourselves the most present and joyful.

This doesn’t mean we see life as being all cupcakes 🧁 and rainbows 🌈 but rather acknowledging any pain or suffering in amongst life and recognising that some things we can let go of, some things we can walk alongside and some things we have to accept knowing that we are not defined by any of it.

What are your thoughts on the Eight Limbs of Yoga?

It’s so easy to be caught up in a habit loop that can end up causing you a disservice rather than supporting your wellbeing.
This is where I feel self-reflection is a biggie in that you can look at the whats and whys of what you are doing and check in with yourself to see if you feel good about the current situation, indifferent or maybe it’s time to see if you can cultivate change into your routine.

What is keeping you from stepping into your power?

Let me know in the comments.

For me, the ultimate self-care package includes practices that connect you back to yourself.

What I mean by this is learning what drives you to live in your truth i.e. the person you truly resonate with, versus parts of you that show up in a way that doesn’t help you connect back to your truth i.e. fear, anxiety, stress, worry, anger etc

Although these are all part of living, when we allow these to take over, we can cause a dysregulated nervous system in that we can remain “stuck” in unserving patterns and heres where yoga therapy can help you unpick these, guiding you towards greater wellbeing.

Self-reflection may bring up unease but it can also help drive you back towards yourself, back to your purpose. Purpose doesn’t have to be this huge shift in life and work ethic, it can be as simple as treating others kindly and sending love to the world which in turn brings more love and kindness into your own world 🌍♥️

How do you resonate with self-care, id love to hear your thoughts 💭
