I am not going to publish the picture, as it may be too disturbing, I am going to use this one instead.

River covered by ice. Fluid covered by something hard. Like a wound on the heel that’s covered by callus. Looks like it’s healed, but underneath there is a tissue macerated by leaking lymph and blood.
Patient complains about the pain, but hears from the professionals that it’s dry, hence it’s healed.

Until you take that hard skin off and expose what’s going on underneath.

Fingers crossed for that patient, they are on the mend now ❤️‍🩹

Fungal infection on the nails takes a lot of time to heal. It needs consistency and patience. May take even 18 months.
The most important thing is to apply right treatment as not all types of fungus should be treated the same way. For example what will cure the fungus on the skin will not help the nails.

💥 Ingrown nails hurt — no doubt about it!
I know the idea of having one treated (or even touched) can feel a little scary. That’s why I always suggest taking an ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your appointment. Not only does it ease the pain in your feet and toes, it also helps calm down inflammation so the treatment feels much more comfortable. 💊✨

Okay, maybe it’s my little obsession… but I can’t help checking out every foot and toenail I see 👀😂
This summer I even spotted some very questionable ones at the Museum of the Lost Tales in Zagreb. Definitely overdue for a trim!

But seriously—how long should toenails be?
👉 Too short = risk of infection + painful ingrown nails.
👉 Too long = perfect hiding spot for dirt and moisture (hello fungus 👋), not to mention bruises and pressure from shoes.

The sweet spot? Keep them neat, with just a little free edge showing. Balance is key! ⚖️
