Today marks the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and a powerful turning point in the natural cycle.

As the Sun reaches its most southerly position, we arrive at a sacred threshold — the pause between darkness and light. From this moment, the days begin to lengthen once more, carrying the promise of renewal.

For millennia, this Solstice has been celebrated as a Pagan festival of rebirth, with communities gathering at sacred landscapes, including Stonehenge, to honour the returning Sun.

The Geminids are often described as the finest annual meteor shower, producing bright, multicoloured meteors that illuminate the long winter nights. At their peak, it’s possible to witness dozens per hour from dark skies.

✨ Egyptian Festivals of Khoiak & Nehebkau (23rd & 29th November)
Two powerful Ancient Egyptian observances fall this month, marking the transition from one sacred season to the next.
🌒 23rd November – Khoiak
A contemplative festival closing the season of Akhet, traditionally associated with the mysteries of Asar (Osiris) and the descent into stillness before renewal.
🌱 29th November – Nehebkau
A festival of rebirth, honouring Nehebkau, “He who unites the Kas”. This protective serpent Deity symbolised regeneration and the weaving together of body, spirit, and purpose — heralding the start of the new agricultural season, Peret.
These ancient rites once brought communities into harmony with the land, the cosmos and one another — and they continue to inspire our work through Reyad Sekh Em® Egyptian Alchemy Healing.
