Today marks Setsubun, Japan’s traditional Bean-Throwing Festival — a joyful ritual for cleansing away the energies of the old year and welcoming health, harmony and good fortune as Spring approaches.
Families scatter roasted soybeans to chase away mischievous spirits (oni) and invite renewal, reminding us that seasonal transitions are powerful moments for conscious release.
