🐎 October Horse – Ancient Roman Festival of Mars
15th October marked the Ides of October in Ancient Rome, when the unusual festival of the October Horse took place. This rare horse sacrifice was offered to Mars, god of war and agriculture, closing the campaigning season and honouring cycles of transition.

Thankfully, such rituals are long past, but they remind us of humanity’s deep connection to rituals of renewal and balance.

Today we honour the Going Forth of Isis, a sacred Egyptian festival celebrating the Great Mother. On this day, Isis’s heart is gladdened as the heritage is granted to her son Horus. Aset was the indigenous name for Isis.
