We had a really lovely morning at St Katharine's House , enjoying some classic tunes and plenty of smiles all round ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜Š

We were delighted to welcome The Derilics, who filled the home with live music and created such a warm, uplifting atmosphere. There was tapping along, a few singalongs, and lots of happy moments shared between our amazing residents and staff ๐Ÿ’œ

Itโ€™s always amazing to see how music brings people together and sparks so many memories in such a natural way. Our residents really felt the joy of it all ๐ŸŽต

Weโ€™ve been busy at St Katharineโ€™s celebrating World Health Day with a lovely homemade snack afternoon ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ•

Our wonderful residents got hands on in the kitchen making their own fresh dips using simple, traditional ingredients. With just a few bits and pieces, we created three completely different flavours and there were plenty of chats about favourite recipes along the way ๐Ÿ’œ

The vegetables and salad were all washed, peeled and chopped by our residents before everyone tucked into their healthy treats together. It was such a nice way to spend the afternoon and a lovely reminder that healthy food can still be full of flavour ๐Ÿ˜Š

We head out into the community every week, and itโ€™s something our lovely residents at St Katharine's House really look forward to ๐Ÿ’œ

Some days weโ€™ll wander around a local garden centre, other times itโ€™s a visit to a museum or a quick trip to pick up a few bits and pieces. Thereโ€™s almost always time for a gentle browse in the charity shops too, you never know what little treasures might be waiting

Itโ€™s a simple routine, but those moments out and about bring a real sense of independence and a change of scenery that lifts everyoneโ€™s spirits. Thereโ€™s always a story or two to share on the way back home

Whereโ€™s your favourite place to have a little browse?

International Jazz Day felt a little bit special at St Katharine's House this year ๐ŸŽท

We were treated to a wonderful performance from Alan Hook, and from the moment he started playing, you could feel the room change. Our wonderful residents settled in, smiling as those first notes filled the space, and it wasnโ€™t long before toes were tapping and a few gentle sways joined in too ๐Ÿ’œ

Thereโ€™s something about live music that brings everyone together. Some of our residents closed their eyes and just listened, others chatted about memories the songs brought back, and every now and then youโ€™d hear a little laugh as a familiar tune came along ๐ŸŽต

It stayed with us long after the music stopped, those calm, happy moments we all shared.

April didnโ€™t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and thatโ€™s what made it so special ๐Ÿ’œ

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinsonโ€™s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St Georgeโ€™s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile ๐Ÿด

Itโ€™s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

Hereโ€™s a little look at April across our homes ๐Ÿ“ธ

The past couple of weeks at St Katharine's House have been simply beautiful, the kind of weather that gently calls you outside and makes you want to stay there just a little bit longer โ˜€๏ธ

Weโ€™ve been making the most of every moment in our garden, from a spot of gentle gardening to a few light hearted games, and plenty of sitting back and soaking up the sunshine. Our wonderful residents have been enjoying the slower pace, with chats flowing easily and laughter never too far away ๐Ÿ’œ

Thereโ€™s something so special about these unhurried afternoons, just being together, enjoying the warmth and the little things that make our garden feel like such a lovely place to be.

We spent a really lovely afternoon together celebrating St Georgeโ€™s Day at St Katharine's House , gathered around for a tea party kindly prepared by our kitchen team ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง The room felt warm and relaxed, with plenty of chatter and cups of tea being topped up.

As we sat together, our residents shared stories of travels far and wide, from sunny holidays to big adventures, yet there was a quiet fondness when the conversation came back to England and home. It was one of those moments where everyone had something to share, and we all enjoyed listening.

With gentle folk music playing in the background, the whole afternoon had a soft, nostalgic feel to it. It was calm, comforting and full of those little moments that make days like this so special ๐Ÿ’œ

We had a lovely trip down memory lane today at St Katharine's House as we explored our transport memorabilia from the retro box ๐Ÿš—

Our residents really enjoyed looking through the items, from caravans to motorbikes, sparking all sorts of stories from years gone by. There was lots of sharing, with memories of travels, favourite vehicles and even a few familiar films that brought everything to life

It was so special to see the smiles as each memory was shared, with conversations flowing and everyone enjoying those moments together ๐Ÿ’œ

It really was a special morning for us at St Katharines Care Home ๐Ÿ’œ

We set off with a few of our residents to visit the Parkinsons.Me garden in West Locking, joining in with a very meaningful celebration. Ewan, the founder, was there to mark the tenth anniversary by planting a tree, and it felt like such a lovely moment to be part of. Hearing how the garden grew from a small idea into something so important made it all the more special.

Afterwards, we settled down for a relaxed picnic in the sunshine, with a delicious spread prepared by our wonderful catering team. There were plenty of smiles when the cakes came out, and they didnโ€™t last long at all ๐Ÿฐ

The afternoon was filled with gentle chats, shared stories and simply enjoying the space together. Our residents loved listening to Ewan speak about what the garden means to him, and there was such a warm, peaceful feeling all around us. One of those days that stays with you ๐Ÿ’œ
