We had so much fun testing our culinary skills, guided by our lovely carer Ripple, famous for her incredible sauce-making talents! 👩‍🍳💛 Safe to say, the results were delicious!

We absolutely adore our therapy dog Susie and always look forward to her fortnightly visits where she never fails to put a smile on our faces! 🦮

Visits from therapy dogs like Susie can help reduce stress and anxiety for our residents, while also providing motivation, comfort, and connection.

Megan couldn’t help but smile as she watched the bantams pecking around the garden, with little Tweety happily perched on her knee. The moment brought back fond memories of her childhood and her family’s old chicken coop, but these tiny bantams were even cuter and far more entertaining. She never imagined a few small birds could bring so much joy. 🐥🌿

🎶 We’re excited to launch Sing to Remember, a brand-new community choir for people living with dementia and their loved ones. ✨

It kicks off on 4th August and will run every other Monday from 10:30am to 12:00pm. The group will be led by our wonderful and talented singer, Charmaine, creating a warm and welcoming space to connect, share memories, and sing your heart out.

No experience needed, just come along and enjoy the music! 💜

🎶 Some moments don’t need much — just good music, a few good friends, and a spark of something familiar. ☺️

The other day, we found ourselves lost in a simple joy, listening to some of our favourite songs, playing a spirited round of Name That Tune, and smiling at how quickly a few notes could transport us back in time.

Laughter filled the room as we guessed (and mis-guessed) track after track with each song bringing back flashes of old road trips, teenage years, or that one summer we’ll never forget. It wasn’t just a game. It was a jukebox of memories.

Then came the moment we’ll all remember, our very own Charmaine stepping up as soloist, voice carrying the room like a familiar melody. It was unexpected, beautiful, and somehow just right. 💜

🎶 Music has been at the heart of St Katharine’s Care Home this month! From our lively pub night with a fun festival theme to the incredible talent showcased at our annual summer fete not to mention our regular themed days, we've truly celebrated the joy of music. 🎤

But music is more than just entertainment. It's a powerful force that brings people together, lifts spirits, and helps us express emotions that words sometimes can't. Whether it's healing, connecting, or simply making us smile music is a universal language that touches us all. 💖

Let’s continue to celebrate music in all its forms, not just for the memories it creates, but for the meaning it carries. 🕺🎵
